Review Acer Aspire P3-171-3322Y2G06as Convertible

Iconia basic. Windows alongside decent computing power packed in

Very good viewing angles; Very bright screen; Grayscale reproduction; Decent performance owing to SSD; Nice feel, stable chassis; Quiet; Decent 5 MP camera; Decent runtimes

Few interfaces, no card reader; Poor keyboard feedback; Keyboard unusable in flight mode; Heavy with keyboard case; High waste heat

The slimmed Core i3 does a good job. A decent system performance is achieved alongside the swift SSD, which can almost compete with expensive ultrabooks.

Acer Aspire P3 Hands On Review

Acer isn't only offering a new notebook hybrid with its Aspire R7, but they're also going to be releasing a new ultra-convertible ultrabook with its Aspire P3 which features an Intel Core i3 or i5 processor and an IPS display. […]

As I said earlier, the Acer Aspire P3 feels more like a tablet within a bluetooth keyboard housing, which isn’t quite what I believe an ultrabook to be. But its main selling point, being an ultra-convertible computer, is something it does well.

Acer Aspire P3

The Acer Aspire P3 is a new product that already feels old.

The Acer Aspire P3 is a solidly built, full Core i5 Windows 8 tablet with its own keyboard for under $1,000. The lower-res display at least looks crisp.

Generic design, a cheap-feeling keyboard case, last-gen Intel processors.

Yet another Windows 8 Core i5 tablet, the Acer Aspire P3 has only one thing in its favor: it costs a maximum of $899.

Acer Aspire P3 Review

The world of convertible laptops/tablets is growing every day. As we saw back in May at its global press event, Acer has its own version to throw in the mix: the Aspire P3. Our initial impression was that Acer made an Ultrabook trapped in a tablet's...

IPS screen offers nice contrast and viewing angles ; Keyboard case included

Expensive considering competition ; Battery life isn’t great ; Screen could be brighter ; Similarly priced competition has higher-resolution screens

Acer’s Aspire P3 is a nice-looking slate that ships with a keyboard cover. But at $900, it’s a hard sell, given similarly priced alternatives have better screens and battery life.

Acer unveils Aspire P3 Ultrabook convertible

Acer brought a whole bunch of folks out to NYC for a global press conference and made sure the attending press got their money's worth. In addition to outing the unique convertible R7, the company unveiled the Aspire P3 -- its first convertible Windows...

The faux-leather Bluetooth keyboard case, on the other hand, leaves something to be desired. While its inclusion in the basic package is appreciated (and any keyboard is better than no keyboard with Windows), it had us feeling underwhelmed. The tablet...

Acer Aspire P3 hands-on

From what it looked like, the Acer Aspire R7 seemed like the headliner at Acer's press event today. Quite frankly, though, we were most interested by another convertible style device that's on the complete opposite end of the spectrum. Significantly...

As for the rest of the specs, the Acer Aspire P3 features an Intel Core i3/i5 processor, 2GB/4GB of RAM, 60GB/120GB storage, Intel HD Graphics 4000 GPU, 5,280 mAh battery, 720p front facing camera, 5-megapixel rear camera, 802.11 a/b/g/n Wi-Fi, 1 USB...

Acer Aspire P3 pictures and hands-on

We've seen our fair share of laptop-meets-tablet hybrid devices, some have left us hot, others cold. Acer's latest foray into the Windows 8 fold is the Aspire P3: an 11.6-inch device that's a balance between Ultrabook and tablet.

Unlike the imminent Microsoft Surface Pro release the Acer Aspire P3 comes in at a sensible price point: £599 in the UK for the base model. Nay bad - looks like this could be a hot contender in the hybrid market.

Acer Aspire P3 hands-on review

One downside that we discovered with the Acer Aspire P3's design was that trying to separate the slate from the Bluetooth keyboard case was a bit of a nightmare. You are required to bend, tease and slide your finger across the top of the seal. It's...

The Acer Aspire P3 joins a growing gang on hybrid Ultrabooks. It’s design is good on the whole, with one minor flaw in the way that you remove the slate, but overall it seems to be a powerful and good looking brute.
