Acer Aspire Switch 10 review: A unique hybrid with less hassle

There are many 10-inch and 11-inch hybrids to choose from right now if you've got about $400 to spend and realistic expectations of performance and storage capacity. Recent versions from Lenovo, Dell, and HP all offer Atom or Pentium-powered...

The Acer Aspire Switch 10 has a hybrid mechanism that actually works, and it has a decent keyboard and touchpad for such a small body.

The component-filled top half makes the system top heavy and prone to tipping over backwards. Performance feels sluggish for all-day use, and the default 32GB SSD will be too small for many.

The Acer Aspire Switch 10 is a budget hybrid that skips the more-common fold-back or button-clasp hinges and instead attaches its screen via a magnetic connection. It shares the same hardware limitations as other small hybrids, but can be easier to use.

"Perfect mobile work solution (I returned my Surface Pro 3 for it)"

I love this little guy: As I mention in the summary I returned the Surface Pro 3 that I bought at the same time because I found myself using the Acer more. I ran the two side by side and yes the Surface Pro was faster and smoother, but only a little. I...

Size, Speed, Utility, Price

It's not a Surface Pro 3; but it's 1/3 the price.

"Good when it works. . . But not for longevity"

Speed, portability, resolution, sound, different viewing modes, touch-screen

Battery, start-button issues, Windows button issue, not a laptop replacement, Acer support

"Waste of money "

This computer is a waste of money. I purchased it in August 2014 and almost immediately started having problems, and because of the cheap cost, I didn't purchase any insurance and wasted my money. The computer only turns on every 3 out of 5 times, it...

"Versatile tablet laptop combo, gives Chromebooks a run for their money"

I was hoping to keep this a short and concise review. This is the shortest I could do.

Full keyboard, Bright, colorful screen, Great sound, Touch screen, Easy set, Easy to navigate, Nice large Kindle reader.

Not a high powered computer, Not great for gaming.

Good quality sound but...

I bought this to replace my 6.5 year old acer aspire 8.9 Inch netbook that has until 2 weeks run superbly. Now, it too has died and I dont have any working Computers and dont know what to do.

It worked great for a few weeks, then started to freeze and didnt want to turn on

A few days after the 90 day warranty expired my Acer Switch 10 decided to stop working. It wont turn on and the light indicator doesnt work. I looked up all Support on the Acer Community Website and tried all the usual rebooting methods with 10 seconds...

Never again

Acer provided RT free shipment on all 3 warranty occasions, but unacceptable that MS Office was wiped in their shop and would not be replaced.

Lightweight, responsive tablet. Very nice when it works

Battery failed after 30 days. Failed 3 days after warranty service and had ON switch replaced as 2nd warranty repair. MS Office 2013 deleted in 2nd warranty repair and ACER would not replace or provide the activation number for the original

Broke 1 month out of warrenty

I would rate this device as 4 eggs on the experience and curb appeal, but 0 eggs for the corners cut and problems experienced. Considering that, 2 eggs is a fair evaluation.

Sturdy, lightweight, good battery life, crisp display and good audio, very fast for an Atom cpu

After 4 months the WIFI card died with a combination of driver errors (multiple drivers tried) and device disabled errors. Those are when the device shows up at all. As the adapter is SDIO I was hoping to be able to replace the card... No joy, the card...
