Review Update Acer Aspire V3-771G (FHD) Notebook

Second try. Although the Acer Aspire V3 was designed as a multime

matte FullHD display; decent system performance; decent 3D performance; acceptable system noise; moderate temperature increase; decent sound; comfortable keyboard

no SSD; no BluRay drive; all interfaces near the front of the sides

The relatively low temperature increase. The device also remains rather cool during maximum load.

Review Acer Aspire V3-771G Notebook

Goodbye Ethos. Acer uses the change to the new Intel Ivy Bridge

Pleasant keyboard; Very good application performance; Good 3D performance; Two hard disk bays + mSATA slot; Acceptable noise level; Good sound

Sensitive high-gloss surfaces; All interfaces far front; HD+ screen with mediocre contrast

Considering the high performance capacities, upcoming and affordable 17 inch multimedia notebooks based on Ivy Bridge, e.g. the Asus N76 or the new models of HP's Pavilion dv7 range.

Everything works great except the SSD

Good specs, it boots quickly, graphics are pretty decent for simple games, the HDD size is nice. Speakers are decent

Firmware issue with SSD. Every time the battery get's low, we get the "No bootable device, hit any key" message. Occasionally I can get it started by moving around the boot order with F2 or sticking in a USB with a bootable version of ubuntu and...

Nice laptop

Overall a great buy and value for the price. Very happy with this laptop.

Good processor ; Good amount of starting RAM. I upgraded to 16GB as soon as I took it out of the box ; Nice Nvidia graphics GeForce GT 730M ; Great value for the price when I bought it

Nvidia graphics 4GB is a little misleading, doesn't seem like it uses the 4GB at all ; Windows 8 has a hell of a learning curve ; Battery life, but for the parts inside, plus my settings, it's not too bad

Mostly good

Im posting this so that other people like me who run into this problem can find solutions much faster as most of the info happens to be laid out nicely here in the reviews I've been reading. I had to add to them though with my experience as it only...

It's the best bang for your buck. At least it was when I got it ; The HD screen is nice for gaming and work ; I can play quite a few games like Crysis 2, Portal 2, Call of Duty Black Ops 2, Borderlands 2 on close to max graphics without any problems ;...

The downsides are the same as everyone elses ; The SSD has a awful Firmware version that leaves people like me stuck with the following problems ; Symptoms include random crashes followed by the SSD hard drive not being recognized by the system ; If...
