Review Acer Aspire V5-131-10172G50akk Notebook

Long battery life for little money. With the Aspire V5-131, Acer

matte screen; low system noise; low power consumption; very good battery life; user can/must select the OS

spongy keyboard; poor viewing angles; bluish display

Acer managed to make energy consumption and temperature increase lower than the Aspire One 756 siblings.

Acer Aspire V5-131-2629

I am not sure what others have received, but the one I got works just fine. Reading the reviews I was concern the touch pad was usable, but it's not that much different from others pads I use. It has double picked while playing a card game, but so does...

Win 7 ; Size ; Price

No USB 3.0 ; Boatload ; The charger does not seem very robust, but it works fine so far

This computer is the second one of this model. I ended up returning the first one a second time is because the microphone failed to work when I tried to skype with the computer. This second return for an exchange was no problem. I wish I'd asked for an...

I doubled the memory, and it moves right along. I like the size of computer

No problems

bad port

Upon getting the same computer back from NewEgg and upon being told by NewEgg that the computer was good to go, I found immediately that the USB port was still faulty. If I inserted a memory stick or a USB mouse in that port and held the stick or the...

I like the size of computer. I like the speed since I doubled memory

I sent the computer back to NewEgg for repair or replacement because it had a faulty USB port. Also the card reader did not work

contains unremovable BIOS SPYWARE!

As if the revelations that the NSA, Google, Facebook, Verizon, AT&T, Microsoft and others are spying on you are new to you, well, now you can add Acer to the list. Recommend keeping some black electrical tape over the webcam, when not using skype....

Nice little laptop, lightweight, good battery life, ok screen. Performance is about double my C-60 Acer

BIOS contains Computrace Lo-Jack agent, and cannot easily be disabled or removed. Installs "rpcnet.exe" spyware into windows, even on a clean install of Windows 7 64bit

Has W7 64bit not W8 Thank YOU

I hate the finger mouse and I bought a wireless one. But they are fairly sheap and plug and play. I also knew that the notebook doesn't have a DVD writer so I ordered one so I could install some software I needed. Again I knew this going in.

Small and pretty fast for a notebook. Nice size 500GB WD Blue HDD. W7 64 bit OS which is hard to find on a notebook these days. Good size keyboard which I needed for my large hands. You can add another 4GB stick of memory if needed

I would have been nice to have more information on the size of the HDD. I wanted to replace the HDD with a SSD that I already own. The SSD is a 2.5 and it will not fit in the notebook. Something should have been said that a 7mm SSD is needed note a...

Excellent travel laptop!

I have been searching for a Windows 7 OS in a relatively lightweight (#3.2) travel laptop that has a small footprint (11.6" screen), webcam and is bluetooth-enabled. This little gem will be on the road with me (domestically and internationally) and I...

compact, excellent battery capacity, comfortable keyboard, 3 USB ports (2.0), Bluetooth, Webcam and both VGA and HDMI

shiny black surface could scratch easily

Outstanding travel computer

The Acer v5 is an excellent laptop computer for travel. Although small, the display is exceptionally sharp. The built-in keyboard has a nice click response and is easy to type on. I chose this computer because I needed a small, easy-to-carry laptop...

Everything works well

Minor inconvenience: Takes awhile to resume from sleep

Great Price and Great Value. Small and compact.

Great out of the box experience. Load the battery, plug it in and be on the internet within 10 minutes. Small and compact. The photos do not show the battery which elevates the rear by a half inch--but also makes a nice keyboard angle for typing and...

Great Price and Great Value. Small and compact. Windows 7 reliable

Small screen can challenge older eyes

Nice Bang for the Buck

this netbook does all I want. It's thin and fairly light, and doesn't break the bank. Speed is decent for a cheap computer, screen bright, and works great. Battery life could be better, but hey it's not bad for a low cost computer.

So Far A Great Machine

Battery life not great
