Review Acer Aspire V5-571P-6499 Notebook

Touch on a budget. Acer's touchscreen-equipped Aspire V5-571P-649

Responsive touchscreen; Low heat; Large touchpad; Optical drive; Good overall value

Battery life; Low brightness; Narrow viewing angles; Port locations

If a touchscreen is not absolutely necessary, Acer's own V5-571-6892 with a 1.8 GHz i5-3337U, a 500 GB hard drive, and 6 GB of RAM for about ~$630.

Acer Aspire V5-571P-6627

The Acer Aspire V5-571P-6627 is a touch-enabled laptop that balances the demands of portability and performance against affordability, and comes out looking pretty good.

Touch screen. Extra-large touchpad. Optical drive. Intel Core i3 low-voltage processor offers solid performance. Slim design looks good and makes it easy to pick up and go

Battery life is fairly short

It's not easy finding a great value when laptop shopping. Weighing all the different factors, from performance to price, or parts to portability, can be tough, but the Acer Aspire V5-571P-6627 (available in Canada) does a pretty good job. This slim...

Acer Aspire V5 review: beauty and no brains

This sleek budget machine looks good but lacks performance muscle.

Smooth, responsive touchscreen ; Decent video and audio experience

Low resolution for 15-inch display ; Poor general performance

Acer Aspire V5-571P-6499

The Acer Aspire V5-571P-6499 offers a responsive touch screen and great audio for $699, but its short battery life and wonky touchpad are turnoffs.

Responsive touch screen; Strong audio performance; Spacious backlit keyboard

Short battery life; Touchpad has trouble with Windows 8 gestures; Poor webcam quality

Click to EnlargeIn many ways the Acer Aspire V5-571P-6499 is a satisfying Windows 8 notebook, combining an accurate touch screen, good performance and robust audio. Still, with an anemic battery life of just over 4 hours, you won't want to leave home...

Acer Aspire V5 review: A touch-screen Windows 8 laptop for less

After starting with high-end proof-of-concept models such as the Acer Aspire S7 and Lenovo IdeaPad Yoga , touch screens are moving into mainstream Windows 8 laptops.

The Acer Aspire V5 has a decent design, midrange configuration, and a touch screen, all for a very reasonable price.

While slim and reasonably attractive, this is still a plastic laptop. The weak battery keeps it from being a great road system.

For under $700, the Acer Aspire V5 proves that a touch screen can work in a budget-priced Windows 8 laptop without cutting too many corners.

Acer Aspire V5-571P-6499

For the past few years we've been impressed by Acer's 15-inch Aspire laptops—not for their looks, but for their ability to deliver above-average performance and features for a budget price. The Aspire V5-571P-6499 adds the sharp looks to round out the...

Low price ; Slim design ; Onboard optical drive ; Spacious, responsive touch screen ; Backlit keyboard

Mediocre Webcam ; Weak speakers ; LAN and VGA connections require included dongle

A thrifty price and big, responsive touch screen make the Acer Aspire V5-571P-6499 a pleasant way to make your acquaintance with Windows 8. It's also surprisingly slim for a 15-inch budget notebook, but miscellaneous gripes keep it from perfection.

Acer Aspire V5 11.6" Ivy Bridge notebook review - Liliputing

The Acer Aspire V5-171 is a thin and light notebook that proves you don’t have to pay top dollar to get an ultraportable computer that offers decent performance. It has an 11.6 inch, 1366 x 768 pixel display, a 1.7 GHz Intel Core i5-3317u dual...

Acer Aspire V5 touchscreen laptop

Don't be put off by the Pentium; this laptop actually goes alright

Decent performer ; Good amount of features ; Good size for the price

Screen ripples at the sides when you touch it ; Touchpad could be better

This is an inexpensive touchscreen laptop with decent speed and features. At 14in, it's not too big or heavy to carry around on a daily basis, and it's comfortable enough to use for long typing and Web browsing sessions. The touchscreen adds an extra...

Acer Aspire V5 Touch (V5-571P-53316G50) - Pocket-lint

Laptops seem to fall into two main camps these days: pricey Ultrabook-like models that, let's face it, can be astronomically expensive, and those less-hot

Fair price, backlit keyboard, keyboard and trackpad offer good resistance in use, 6GB Ram and 1.7GHz i5 processor make for decent enough performance when it's needed, touchscreen is responsive, full Windows 8 as standard

Slow to boot/wake and load software, limited resolution, washed-out colours and mediocre viewing angle to screen, plasticky build, 2.3kg weight doesn't make it ideal for transporting around

There's a fair lot of good to be said for the Acer Aspire V5 Touch from a specs point of view. For the money there's a whack of power on offer and that'll make this machine an attractive prospect, particularly as - despite its bulk and 2.3kg weight -...

Acer Aspire V5 Touch

Strong specs at a decent price make the V5 Touch a good option but it does come with comprimises.

Touchscreen makes Windows 8 more tolerable ; Comfortable keyboard ; Good sized trackpad

Mediocre battery life ; Hefty weight

Other than the tactile nature of it, there’s not much else really outstanding about the screen. Some of the icons in Windows 8 look quite fuzzy, and the viewing angles aren’t as good as some of its rivals, but it’s perfectly serviceable.
