Acer Extensa 4630Z

A well-priced laptop, the Acer Extensa 4630Z is a good business machine to equip the sales or marketing force with in a company.

Price ; Matte screen ; Port placement ; Feature set

No extra business features

Not quite the HP ProBook, but at a price tag of Rs. 32,350, the Acer Extensa 4630Z is clearly a budget laptop. It doesn't come in with a fingerprint reader or extra business-tuned applications, but gets the basics right. A matte screen, good build...

$399 Laptop - can't go wrong!

Will be upgrading the HDD from the 160GB it came with. ACER tech support told me that this pc only does 250GB max, but their product support page says it will do a 320GB or higher.. When I asked they said only 250GB. Anyone know if it will go higher??...

Great price from NewEgg

Keyboard is both stiff and too sensitive. I'm either not pressing keys hard enough, or hitting them too long and I'm getting double entry. It makes logging into Windows a bit of a challenge. No Bluetooth (but you can find aftermarkets on for $24). Oh...

Great notebook at a great price.

I wanted a notebook to use when I'm away from my PC and I couldn't have gotten a better deal at $399 for this one. I added another 2GB RAM and it runs great. I even use it for the games from BigFish and it does a good job. It runs cool too, I've used...

No cons really, maybe it should come with more than the factory 2GB RAM

Spiffy little laptop

I bought this for my husband for email, to surf the internet, and video chat with his sister and cousin in NC and friend in Colorado. It does all three. The video is choppy but what do you expect. For some reason, I thought it was coming with 2x1GB...

Compact little machine, cd/dvd RW, video cam, added 2 GB stick of ram (super easy to do) and noticed improvement. Vista is not as bad as most are saying (except UAC, which you can shut off). I do prefer XP but hey, i'm not going to cry over it and will...

Touchpad wasn't working ; couldn't find any settings in Control panel, was getting frustrated THEN HELLO, discovered Fn-F7 is a toggle for the touchpad. Touchpad is very sensitive so being able to turn it off that easily is a bonus

Great Laptop!

This laptop is an outstanding value for the price. The picture is crisp and clear and it boots up very fast. I bought this laptop for school and it is more than adequate for my needs. Also, it is larger than I thought it would be and the keys are...

I would agree with some of the other reviewers that the touchpad is a little tricky, which can be annoying. Other than that, it's fine

Took a little time to get used to Vista from XP. Great laptop I would buy it again.

Very fast setup when on the first boot up. Light weight perfect for carrying around college campus. Processor is a plus. VERY reasonable price. The trial programs were quick to get rid of

Great little Notebook

Would be nice to have some of the other ports, like hdmi and a few extra usb ports.

Great little notebook for the price. Not a whole lot of extras. Simple small and decent battery life

Great for the money!

I am a Network Engineer and I bought this laptop for my mother. She is going to college to become a nurse and wanted a laptop for homework and internet browsing. It has everything she has ever wanted to use and it is working very well for her.

This laptop is perfect for a basic user. Has everything that the everyday user would need

Very pleased

Overall a surprisingly good notebook for the money- definitely a good find for four and a half c-notes. I bought this for my wife who works with computers as an RN, but has the tech level of the casual web browser- she likes it and is using it more...

Worked fine out of the box, nice bright, sharp screen. I've gotten rid of most of the trialware and with an extra 2GB RAM installed, everything seems to run smoothly. Network setup was painless, and Firefox, AVG, and OpenOffice installed without a hitch

For a longtime mouse user, the touchpad was ok, but I quickly went to get a wireless mouse for a bit more control. Vista "do you really want to do this" warnings are annoying. The slightly curved keyboard takes a little getting used to
