Lousy customer support, lousy product

Never, never again

It was cheap

Flakey operating system, recovery doesn't work, they charged me $20 for recovery media (doesn't come with it) which ALSO didn't work - had to send it to Acer for refresh, 6 months later, same problem, b the time I reported it - it was 2 days out of...

Absolute Garbage

I will never make another purchase from this site again, and will be filing a court claim for reimbursement of my purchase, as well as the services and fees I had to pay due to the faulty unit.

Nothing

Purchased this unit for one purpose, to use with Fuel Mapping software for a race motorcycle that requires a PC. Since the day I received this unit it has not stopped crashing. Yesterday I timed my usage, out of 5 hours and 2 minutes, 4 hours and...

Acer E1-571

I removed the Seagate thin hard drive it arrived with and replaced it with an old Momentus SSD/HDD hybrid 7200RPM; 32MB Cache (4GB SSD) 320GB drive. The HDD caddy is designed for the thin drive; you have to remove all of the buffers and plastic coating...

Intel core i3, hyper-threaded for under $400? What isn't pro about that? Super fast; HDMI port. Inexpensive laptop for Intel quality

Like the previous review, the wireless. I have configured, reconfigured and reconfigured the advanced configuration aspect of the wireless card and can get it to connect at 72MBS - at initialization....then drops back to 65. The Broadcom card it comes...

Excellent value

Windows 8 is OEM pre-installed and does not come with a disc. I found it impossible to get Windows 8 on a disc or usb. Researched the web for hours but nothing worked. Tried to use the Win 8 upgrade tool but there was an issue with the product key....

After extensive research I decided to buy this laptop and I have to say that it is an excellent value, got this for 380 dollars ; upgraded to 8 GB RAM even though the 4GB would probably have done the job easily ; screen is nice, very bright and colors...

not the lightest laptop, but still ok to carry around. no big deal for me anyway since I use it as a desktop computer most of the time

Very Good Value, BUT can use a memory upgrade

Windows 8 is a little different than Windows 7, but whatever. Some people are going to pitch a fit every time some little thing changes in their routine. For these folks, I recommend against owning a computer at all! For everyone else, Windows 8 is...

This laptop is already a very good value--as I write this, it is $399, down from $429, making it an affordable entry-level laptop

4GB of RAM may not be enough for many users, depending on your typical usage. Personally I like to leave a lot of tabs and windows open at once, which can slow things down. However, a memory upgrade for this computer (204-pin DDR3) is very inexpensive...

Acer Aspire E1-571-6680 Notebook

I installed a third party application to enable the start orb. Works like a charm. It bypasses the Metro interface, but it is there in the start menu to click if you really want it.

Processor, memory, and screen. There was also not a bunch of junkware installed

Windows 8 Metro interface. I am not a fan. Why relearn how to use an operating system
