Consumer review (newegg.com)

very pleased

The sound is a mixed bag, but I like it. On the plus side, I can hear things!!! This is a huge improvement over my last laptop, where even at the highest volume, some videos just weren't easy to hear... even professional videos. You'll definitely be...

Great value for what you get -- a quick laptop that can handle modern games and do so with gusto in many cases. It's feature-rich and I can't really think of much, if anything, to complain about its computing functions. As a bonus, it seems solidly...

People are right about the 'flickering' screen, BUT I think the complaints in that regard are overblown. It's only noticeable when the screen is held very, close to my face ; People are also right about the touchpad & clicker. The 'multitouch' aspect...

Decent laptop

Love getting products from the NJ warehouse. Ordered with 3 day and usually get it the next morning here in MA.

Is a decent mid-level gamer laptop. Plays EQ2 with balanced settings @ 50 FPS. Can play BF2142 @ high settings. Plays Fallout 3 and GTA 4 @ medium without a problem. Battery life is around 2 hours

The glossy top is a finger print magnet. Hard drive is a tad slow. Might be just me but the power plug port seems a bit loose

Nice for the price

This Laptop feels and runs like it should be in a higher price bracket, It is amazing how far they have come in the past couple years. I thought it would take a while to adjust to the off center keyboard but I quickly realized I really like it. The...

Built solid and light with quality components, this Notebook is by far a great value for the money. Fast processor handles anything I throw at it with ease ; The screen is bright and clear with no noticeable flicker as some stated in other reviews ;...

No PCMCIA slot so I had to upgrade to a USB TV card, not a big deal. Battery life is about 2 - 2.5 hours, acceptable but not the best

Nice Laptop

If I have to get another laptop...I'll get another one of thease!

I was pleasently suprised with this laptop. I'm not a fan of laptops to begin with but needed one for the on-the-go type of work. It more than does the job! I only wanted to put in QuickBooks Pro 2010 but found it has more than enought ablity to handle...

I hate touch pads and this one is no exception. I use a wireless mouse instead. Of course if I nit pick...the glossy cover shows finger prints VERY well

Great Mid-Budget Laptop

If you're discouraged by the cons, don't be. This laptop is absolutely superb for the price. Even if you're not a gamer, the graphics card makes a huge difference in your experience on Windows 7. It's a great mobile workhorse that will easily do what...

This system is by no means a desktop replacement laptop. However, it is fairly powerful considering its price. For this price, you can certainly get a faster laptop. However, you get a dedicated Radeon mobile HD 4570 512mb card too, and that is worth...

If you're looking for a modern gaming laptop at a budget price, this is not the system for you. It is not able to run Bad Company 2 at acceptable framerates at lowest settings. It will run Crysis Warhead at Mainstream settings fairly well, though. It...

For the money

i'm writing this review on the new laptop.

In this price range you won't find a nicer laptop. i purchased a 23" monitor from acer a year ago, was very pleased and decided to give their laptops a shot. works well, runs smooth, and video card is enough for a portable gamer. bloatware was minimal,...

none yet, but i'll keep you posted

Great for the price

This isn't meant to be a gaming laptop so do what I did and build yourself a more powerful desktop to go with it. This is great for web browsing, media and light gaming on the side when you are not home or at a friend's house.

Runs all 2004/2005 games at high settings for a nice price. Faster than my desktop I built in 2004 for $1000+ and more energy efficient so it's a nice replacement for older desktops ; The Turion II / Radeon 4570 combination makes windows 7 a nice zippy...

It is a little hot after gaming but so far it hasn't shut down on me. Just pickup an Antec notebook cooler s. It's small and compact with 2 fans... usb powered and props up the laptop at a nice typing angle ; Comes with bloatware but it isn't too hard...

Excellent Laptop!

I was a bit skeptical that this laptop would handle what I wanted it to do, but I have been pleasantly surprised with everything I've done on it so far.

This is a great machine for this price point! It does everything that I ask it to do and hardly even blinks. Dragon Age runs smooth at high settings, Sims 3 runs great, older games like &C Generals runs great. Nary a hiccup or stutter

Lack of bluetooth (added an Asus USB bluetooth adapter, works great) ; Lack of Blu-Ray. It seems strange that I can buy a blu ray player for $100, but if I want a laptop that has a dedicated video card and a blu ray player both, it costs $300 more than...

daily lock-ups

Other than the daily lock up and the occasional BSOD that should be resolved with figuring out which driver is screwing up, for being my first laptop, this machine has done well performance-wise.

As everyone else has stated, great price for having a dedicated video processor. Runs pretty fast compared to my Athlon XP+ tower. Decent keyboard, though I find myself quite frequently hitting the capslock when going for the "A" key--I guess that's...

The system locks up on me, forcing a hot restart once a day, within the first 30 minutes of being started up, then it usually runs fine, except for the BSOD's I keep getting about once a week. I've attempted to update the drivers, but Win 7 is new to...
