Review Acer Travelmate 8472TG Notebook

Desktop to go. Das 14,1" This business notebook comes with a matt

Solid case with a robust surface; Matte display with good brightness; Hybrid technology gives the user the choice between battery life and performance; Long runtimes with Intel HD; Good system performance; Relatively light weight, including DVD burner;...

Awkward interface arrangement; No eSata or USB 3.0; No digital monitor output; Low contrast screen with pale colors; No higher resolutions as 1366 x 768 are selectable with the GT330M; Constantly running fan, loud when overloaded; Slow hard drive

Hybrid technology aside, there are currently no notebooks other than the Acer offering a combination of matte 14.1" display and a relatively high-performing graphic card. With lower-performing graphics, one could perhaps consider the Toshiba Tecra M10,...

Good performance and stunning looks

Acer TravelMate

Really appreciate the Windows 7 OS. I don't understand putting WIndows 8 on a non-touch screen laptop. Personally, I don't understand Windows 8 for anything but a tablet.

Nice laptop. Purchased this for my daughter to finish college. She really prefers the smaller size and did not want the 15.6 screen. Wireless works well as she is rarely connected by wire and works from her bedroom. No complaints from her yet

None so far

Bad

I regret buying Acer and I will not buy Acer products again. The laptop was fairy good though. Good specification but bad supports. I prefer Toshiba or HP.

At the time I bought Acer TravelMate, Intel Centrino was a cutting-edge technology which I found quite powerful and excellent to use. Acer offers good value for money products. The specification of the TravelMate is not bad at all for my needs. Good...

I had a lot of problems with Acer. I was very disappointed with their supports and the quality of Acer products.

OK

Needless to say my Acer lasted 12 months before she lost her battle some nasty trojen or whatever virus go to her. And for what I payed for her, it just wasnt worth getting her fixed. I found this computer slow, and unable to handle updates and new...

Small and affordable, those are two wonderful things if your a poor student.

Whats not so great is how many viruses that gets. Its like war of the nerds all over my tiny computer. And norton just isnt defending my like he used to.

Terrible

Acer does not have customer service or relations department, each time you call tech support they say to reformat hard drive regardless of the problem. My two problems are hardware related (motherboard).produce would be good if Acer had a support team...

cost, size, I liked that they merged with gateway

No Customer service, warranty cost $30.00 each time it is sent in for repair, to slow for vista, 1 year old and already on the second repair. My computer broke 62 days after first repair (although it had been acting up (freezing since it was repaired...

Terrible

I think Acer Computers are the worst - their customer service centre would win a prize for managing to employ the largest group of people with an iq of a dead chicken who make sure you know how much they hate their job!

My AcerTravelMate failed within 2 weeks of purchasing a brand new one. When attempting to get acer to fix it under warranty I had to deal with 50 minute phone calls (minimum) to speak to their rude and ignorant customer service center in Sydney - I...
