*Keep in mind my system had the improved 6GB RAM, i7 Quad Core, and 3GB VRAM Video card, which is not included in the base price.
This is an all around great computer, but there are some flaws that can't be overlooked. Most people looking into an Alienware are searching for great gaming, and this computer definitely delivers. My system can play games like Left 4 Dead 2 and Black Ops on all max settings with 50~ fps. It's more than playable, and far better than console. Battlefield 3 also plays extremely well, I run a combination of Ultra/medium settings, 4x AA, and 8x AO. This yields about the same framerate, although generally a little better. The games look fabulous, and this computer exceeds my expectations. However, there are some significant downsides. Battery life is extremely short. Even when the battery was brand new, I couldn't get more than 4 hours out of it, just searching the web. I can't even play games unplugged because the computer cuts the frame rate down to 20 automatically. Maybe it's just because I'm not Windows savy (Mac convert) but games aren't playable unplugged. However, besides general other Windows bugs, this computer is great and well worth my money. I feel like it deserves more than a 4 but not quite a 5. I'd give it a 91/100. Great buy, if you have the money you will not be disappointed.
