Apple MacBook Pro Spring 2010 review

Updates to Apple's MacBook line of laptops are always closely watched, and they generally fall into two categories: there are major evolutions, such as the switch to aluminum unibody construction in 2008, and then there are minor spec upgrades,...

Adds fast, efficient Intel Core i5, i7 processors, new Nvidia graphics, seamless switching between integrated, discrete GPUs...

At the top end of the price scale; still no HDMI, Blu-ray, or other high-end options.

Apple's 15-inch MacBook Pro keeps the same look and feel, but offers major internal changes, including an optional Intel Core i7 CPU, making it a very serious portable powerhouse.

Apple MacBook Pro 15.4in Notebook

We quite liked the new MacBook, but what does Hugo think of its bigger sibling?

However, I'm getting slightly ahead of myself. The MacBook Pro does have some redeeming features and it would be extremely negligent of me not to give them due discussion. Without further ado, then, let's dive in.

Apple MacBook Pro

The new 17-inch MacBook Pro finally brings the top end NVIDIA 9600M GT graphics, all in one aluminium shell, redesigned keyboard and all in one trackpad to the big brother of Apple's laptop line. The good Apple could have just taken the new 15 inch...

You could spend all your working day just staring at the 17-inch MacBook Pro, it's that gorgeous. But if you find the strength to pop the lid, you'll also discover it's the one of the most powerful computers on Earth that you can yank from the wall and...

Lovely machine but disastrous software

When I purchased my MacBook Pro it came with the Yosemite software. Everything worked faultlessly. Recently Apple issued an 'upgrade' called the El Capitan software, this has proved disastrous as I can no longer send or receive email through my Hotmail...

Love my Apple MacBook

I have owned and used many desktop computers and laptops over the years. From first lifting the lid, I have enjoyed using my Apple MacBook Pro. I am a trained typist and the keyboard was immediately comfortable and user friendly. I confess I am still...

Great decision

thought about going for a good quality workhorse and am so pleased I spent a bit more. This laptop is another class and my worry about needing office as a student was misplaced. Delighted!

Text size

Having endured years of Windows i decided to splash out on a Mac Pro 13. Whilst this is an excellent product the text sizing is smaller and therefore visually annoying and tiresome. There are some methods to increase text size but i think Mac would do...

Excellent, no complaints

Bought this to replace a 10 year old Mac. Went for HDD for its sturdiness as opposed to SSD. Migrated all data from the previous laptop overnight. So far so good. Recommend this over any Windows platform.
