Apple MacBook Pro 17-inch

For creative professionals who rely on Apple to get the job done, look no farther than the MacBook Pro (17-inch). Everyone else can shop around.

Very good performance running Windows and Mac OS. Lightest 17-inch notebook available. Great features. Excellent software suite. Extra USB port. iSight camera.

Runs a bit hot. Expensive.

Excellent case ; Light and mobile for a 17" notebook ; Very good display ; Excellent input devices ; Very quiet

Few interfaces ; Adapter too small - thus throttling in maximum CPU and GPU load ; Intel HD Graphics OpenGL drivers not perfected ; Throttled GT 330M ; Sharp front edge ; High price ; Warm case

The 17" notebook's mobility - relatively small and light with a good battery life

Apple MacBook Pro (17-Inch)

Apple's improved 17-inch MacBook Pro is a dream for designers or anyone who doesn't want to sacrifice power for portability.

Beautiful design; long battery life; switchable graphics; impressive durability

No Blu-ray drive or SD-card slot; good, but not great, processor performance

Apple MacBook Pro 17-inch

No matter which way you look at it, the 17-inch Apple MacBook Pro is a premium-priced model. But it's also an incredibly stylish laptop and the new unibody casing seems to get more impressive every time we closely examine it. As with the Apple MacBook...

Interestingly, the Pro sports two Nvidia graphics processors, a 9600m with 512MB of GDDR3 RAM and a 9400m with 256MB of GDDR3 RAM. The idea is that you switch between the two depending on whether you want (significantly) improved GPU performance or...
