I bought a Mac Pro 13.3 (I'm pretty sure this one didn't have a dedicated graghics card, I beleive it had Intel HD 3000 only [Canadian model]).The quality, the track pad, the light up key board, nothing comes close and an absolute "must have". The...

Great laptop for college student

By logans92 (cnet.com) Read the full review

Good performance, good graphics, backlit keyboard helps when writing last minute essays at night while the roommate is sleeping, sleek design, lightweight, perfect size for bringing class to class

Seems to overheat a lot (might be due to my excessive usage, but hearing the fan going at high speed is annoying), battery life is not the best--usually have to charge at least 2x a day (again, most likely due to the amount that I use it)

Fantastic laptop. Well built, slick, powerful.

By VReggie (cnet.com) Read the full review

This is what other manufacturers aim for when building laptops. The MacBook (like any Apple product) is more expensive than most competitive machines, but it's worth it in build-quality alone. Very well engineered, and very stable.

The Late 2008 model I have was the very first aluminum bodied MacBook but it's still a brilliant machine despite the recent revisions released

Tough to find any fault with it. Hard drives seem to fail a lot in these machines (not mine, but at least 40% of my clients have experienced a failed HD)

Apple MacBook Air (11.6-inch) Review

By J.R. Nelson (NotebookReview.com)

The manufacturer's suggested retail price of our review unit is $999; a fully-specced 11.6-inch MacBook Air will cost $1,399

Small, sleek and light ; Can run games in a pinch ; Best-in-class trackpad ; Full-sized keyboard

No Ethernet networking ; No USB 3.0, no SD card slot ; No backlit keyboard

Still, Apple did well what Apple usually does well: they made a gorgeous computer. In today's increasingly cloud-centric world, that might just be enough

Apple's 13-Inch Pro Now Every Bit as Impressive as...

By Christopher Null (wired.com)

Apple's 13-Inch MacBook Pro may be the smallest of the bunch, but that only makes its sturdy construction and dazzling performance that much more impressive.

Seriously solid unibody design shrunk downto more portable proportions. Dazzling performance for a machinethis small (just 4.5 pounds). SD card slot. Love the backlitkeys

Teensy keyboard, puny arrow keys.LCD could be brighter. Nonremovable battery doesn't last “all day”as advertised (reality: not quite four hours with a DVD going)

Award: Editor's Choice!

Bringing in an SD slot and bringing back the FireWire port while also lowering prices eliminated Apple's weakest links in the 13-inch MacBook Pro. Add bigger, better battery life and you've got yourself a winner.

Apple MacBook Pro (13-inch)

By Dana Wollman (laptopmag.com)

Award: Editor's Choice!

Apple's latest thin-and-light notebook features strong graphics performance, a stunning display, and more than 6 hours of battery life.

Unlike its 17-inch sibling, the 13-inch MacBook Pro does not sweep its weight class in every category. There are cheaper notebooks with weaker performance and much longer battery life, for instance, as well as similarly priced systems with slightly...

Nevertheless, the $1,199 MacBook Pro offers the best combination of performance, endurance, and smart software.

Manufacturer's Description

You've seen improvements in notebook performance before - but never on this scale. The Intel Core Duo powering MacBook Pro is actually two processors built into a single chip. This, combined with myriad other engineering leaps, boosts performance up to four times higher than the PowerBook G4. With this awesome power, it's a breeze to render complex 3D models, enjoy smooth playback of HD video, or host a four-way video conference. Intel Core Duo is the first chip built using Intel's groundbreaking 65-nanometer process - resulting in transistors so small, you could fit a hundred inside a single human cell. With smaller distances for electrons to travel, and two processors designed to share resources and conserve power, Intel Core Duo achieves higher levels of performance as it uses fewer watts. Which is what makes it possible to design a super-powerful MacBook Pro that's only one inch thin. When Mac technology makes something easy, it's hardly news. So here's more non-news for MacBook Pro owners: software just works. If you see the Universal logo on a new application, that means it will run on Intel- and PowerPC-based Mac computers. For most existing applications, you simply do what you've always done: double-click them. Thanks to the Rosetta technology in Mac OS X, they look and feel just like they did before.
