Apple MacBook Pro 17-inch

For creative professionals who rely on Apple to get the job done, look no farther than the MacBook Pro (17-inch). Everyone else can shop around.

Very good performance running Windows and Mac OS. Lightest 17-inch notebook available. Great features. Excellent software suite. Extra USB port. iSight camera.

Runs a bit hot. Expensive.

Core Update. Apple's 17 inch aluminum notebook has also been upgr ...

Excellent case ; Light and mobile for a 17" notebook ; Very good display ; Excellent input devices ; Very quiet

Few interfaces ; Adapter too small - thus throttling in maximum CPU and GPU load ; Intel HD Graphics OpenGL drivers not perfected ; Throttled GT 330M ; Sharp front edge ; High price ; Warm case

The 17" notebook's mobility - relatively small and light with a good battery life

Workmanship ; Design ; Glass Trackpad ; Good keyboard (for Mac Os X) ; Light (for 17")

Hot under heavy loads ; Display is very reflective ; Few connections ; Poor Windows drivers

Apple MacBook Pro 2011 (17-inch) review

Apple's 17' top-of-the-range notebook leaps forward

Great new processors ; Powerful new graphics chips ; Thunderbolt port ; Excellent battery life ; Strong, light unibody construction

Expensive ; Same old optical drive ; Hard drive a little slow ; No blu-ray option ; Antiglare option costs extra

The 2011 MacBook Pro refresh is far more radical than it might seem. At a glance, the aluminium unibody Apple MacBook Pro line-up – including this top-of-the-range 17-inch model – look pretty much the same as their predecessors. But under the hood,...
