Price cut from previous version ; new SD card slot ; keeps the same solid unibody construction and oversize trackpad
Loses the ExpressCard slot ; switching GPUs not as seamless as it should be
Apple's 15-inch MacBook Pro makes only minor tweaks to the previous version, but cutting prices and swapping the ExpressCard slot for an SD card slot are enough to make it a solid improvement over its predecessor.

Adds SD card slot and reacquires FireWire ; lower starting price ; same solid unibody construction and giant multitouch trackpad
Nonremovable battery ; no matte screen or discrete graphics options
Previously known as the MacBook, Apple's basic 13-inch aluminum unibody laptop has been promoted to the "Pro" series, all while adding features and cutting the base price.

New aluminum unibody construction comes to the 17-inch model ; useful multitouch trackpad gestures ; attractive edge-to-edge glass on display ; dual graphics provide more power or more battery life
All-clicking trackpad is a bit awkward ; matte screen option costs extra ; switching GPUs is not as seamless as it should be
A little late to the party, Apple's redesigned 17-inch MacBook Pro joins the 15-inch model with a redesigned aluminum body, new trackpad with expanded functionality, and a dual-graphics setup for either longer battery life or better performance.
On a system costing almost $3,000, Apple should really not pass that...
This is the best mac laptop I have EVER owned...
Aluminum unibody shell that locks via magnets. 96W/hr Lipoly battery and the switchable graphics. The glossy screen isn't as bad as some would have you believe either.
Nothing I can really think of at the moment.
Last year's fashion - Apple needs to go back ...
Screen size, weight and dimensions (for a metal case laptop).
Glass trackpad is too hard on your fingers in the long run - hurts like Dell :-) and makes your fingers scream for a ThinkPad. Way too slow hard drive for the price and sealed case makes it very expensive to change anything latter.
