This was my first mac machine. While I have never owned one before this, I have been well familiarized with the operating system. (That is actually what influenced my decision to favor the mac over the PC) My high school prefers the mac platform with...

First thing I noticed about this computer: I could actually use the OS installation it came with (and have been since its purchase). This is a pleasant contrast with the standard laptop nowadays, as at least 30% of performance is lost from bloatware....

Cons are small in magnitude, but still good to include: Speakers are tinny and weak. Not a gaming platform I suppose. (although, there is no reason to be gaming on a laptop...) Scratches easily. DVD drive is violent. History of hardware problems make...

Not perfect, but darn near close

My last experience with a Mac was OS9 six years ago, and even still I was able to pick up this laptop and run with it. It's not perfect for gaming, but it's enough for some nice distractions. Provides nice power for schoolwork without taking up much...

Streamlined OS takes full advantage of 64-bit processor; Easy to pick up and learn, despite lack of right mouse button; great suite of included programs, but nowhere near excessive; Runs WoW well (not beautifully, but well)

Keyboard takes some getting used to (and even then I miss certain keys); Plastic chassis collects scratches; 80gb hard drive fills up faster than expected; X3100 chipset very hit-and-miss for gaming

Mac vs PC

If all you plan on doing is basic wordprocessing and webbrowsing. Get a mac. If you want to take your pc experiance to an extreme get a pc. And xp or linux. Steve Jobbs make the apple a tech tool. Not a consumer toy.

Apple, Its very stable, Has alot of built in features that you won't find on pc's. Its derived from unix. Its got solid specs and is quality built. Blue Tooth is very simple incomparion to my pc iogear version

Apple:(lol)Good luck trying to replace parts or buy new adapters, or buying the mighty mouse. Or any accesories at all. Apple doesn't have a huge manufactor index so cost is higher. You can't do as much as comparion with pc. Terminal is nice, but cmd...

One of the best lappys I've used

After feeling a few PCs at a local B&M store, I won't name names, but one is known for their bulletproof laser printers and one makes copiers and hard drives and appalled at the amount of bloat on them, I decided to go Mac this time. This is a really...

Great style, feels solid, UNIX core of Mac OS X. You can dual-boot or virtualize Windows. Hasn't crashed on me - yet

keyboard tends to not respond from time to time, can't really upgrade it since there's no ExpressCard slot and the CPU is soldered on - but who needs to change anything but the hard drive and RAM

OS-X = derived from BSD = pretty much Linux

I read one review on newegg where the reviewer stated that windows and linux s*cked and that Mac was King (or something to that effect), the poor hapless soul had no clue that Linux and OS-X could be twins. I had a good laugh at his expense, as I am...

To the person below who was surprised that "The terminal window seems to use Linux commands" - it's really no surprise since OS X is derived from BSD. BSD and Linux are pretty much Unix. The thing about OS-X is that Apple only has to concentrate on...

None really, if you can afford the hardware. I use Macs, PC's and a multitude of various Operating Systems, all in fun

A great notebook

Macbook or Vista notebook....if you are short on funds get the pc...I might be one of the few but I like Vista and am using Vista 64 on my desktop....BUT if you are not afraid of paying a little extra...GET's worth it and you won't be...

Great laptop. Received mine through work [I am an educator] and was a little uneasy having to switch from a windows an environment to a mac environment [never been a mac fanboy...overpriced in my opinion]but the transition has been smooth and flawless....

Can't game on it. If you want a laptop for gaming don't go mac; otherwise, in terms of a laptop I see no reason to go with a pc. 13" screen is a little small, compared to my 22" Samsung

Great for Home Computing

I bought my first powerbook 4 years ago. It died this past year due to hard drive failure. After not using a mac for a while and then going back to it, I had forgot what I missed about it. Also the current leopard operating system seems run better than...

This is a great computer for your wife or significant other who does not understand a thing about computers. This is my second apple. I have built many windows machines. For home use the mac os x operating system is so much easier to set up. They also...

expensive as compared to others but you do get what you paid for. Also if you still need to live in a mostly windows world then I would probably not get a mac. If you just need to run windows programs occasionaly then go for it but if you spend 90% of...
