Better than a macbook but it has some problems.

Much impoved graphics... very solid machine with no flex at all so you don't feel like it will bend in your hands if you pick it up by one side. You likely know the good things about a macbook pro, so let me simply give you the things you might have...

It is very fast ; Graphics card is much improved ; much more sturdy than the old polycarbonate/plastic macbooks and macbook pros

slippery ; horrible mouse/track pad button ; swapping from one graphics card to the other requires a restart

Don't drink the coolaid

The new Macbook has a great look and design, even if it is a bit sterile and boring. However, the computer it's self is rediculously overpriced and is completely lacking in features. What's more, security is taken far too lightly by Apple. Updates are...

Attractive design, good processor

Lack of standard features found on computers that cost less than half as much such as firewire, card reader, express card. Inferior security compaired to Windows counterparts, expensive, no matt screen option, many other problems

Very good laptop

I upgraded from the original MacBook Pro Core Duo 2.0 mainly because I believe that Apple is going to do away with the removable battery and going with an integrated battery like the MacBook Air and MacBook Pro 17" I will NOT buy any laptop with an...

unibody construction seems very solid ; two graphic card options ; user replaceable hard drive ; Easy to clean display ; Mac OS ; track pad has option for right click

Glossy screen hard to see in bright light ; ports all on one side and too close together ; Gets very hot ; Form (style) over function

Solid Laptop, Solid Choice

I was on the fence when I was going to buy this. I was trying to decide between a 2.93 GHz iMac with the ATI Radeon 4850 for $1,850 with educational discount, but I saw a deal on the MacBook Pro that I couldn't resist. MacMall was selling this computer...

Aluminum Unibody ; Backlit keyboard ; 2 graphics cards (one for battery life, one for games) ; Very lightweight ; Very slim ; Trackpad is a joy to use ; Screen is crisp and bright ; Multitasking is second to none ; Got massive mail in rebate from MacMall
