Apple 15-inch MacBook Pro (mid 2009) User Review

Apple updated its line of Macbooks and Macbook Pros on the 8th of June 2009 with faster processors, SD card slots, increased battery life, and improved displays. This review looks at the standard top end 15-inch Macbook Pro purchased in the United...

Review: MacBook Pros (15-inch, Mid 2009)

This update to the 15-inch MacBook Pro delivers better value and even more specification options to the laptop, though the upgrades to this new model are more nuanced than flashy.

From the outside, the new 15-inchers don’t have much new to meet the eye. The new models sport the same solid aluminum unibody enclosure with the indented thumb scoop for opening the lid. There’s the same huge touchpad that responds to the familiar...

Apple MacBook Pro (15-inch, Mid 2009) review

For this mid-2009 update of its laptop range, Apple has kept the unique unibody construction introduced last October, and bumped up processor speeds. But additionally, the new Apple MacBook Pro range sees subtle but important changes to the battery...

It’s not the cheapest 15in laptop currently available, but the new Apple MacBook Pro is arguably the best that money can buy today. Only the poor screen quality really lets down an otherwise near-perfect machine. If you can overlook this, then the...

Apple MacBook Pro (15-inch, Mid 2009) review

Apple's revised unibody MacBook Pro 15in (Mid 2009) is also the fastest we've ever tested.

MacBook Pro (15-inch, Mid 2009) review

An upgraded spec and better value is offered with the new 15 inch MacBook Pro.

Bootable SD card slot, improved battery life, higher quality display, entry-level price tag

No ExpressCard slot, integrated graphics processor has slower performance, no matte screen option, no video adaptors or Apple Remote included

The 15in MacBook Pro 2.53GHz, 2.66GHz, and 2.8GHz sport faster processors on the high end, higher RAM capacity, a larger solid-state drive option, longer-life battery, an improved display, and an SD memory-card slot (in lieu of the ExpressCard/34 slot...

Review: MacBook Pros (15-inch, Mid 2009)

The 15-inch MacBook Pro has historically been the most popular model in Apple's pro notebook lineup. It's certainly easier to tote around than its more powerful and hefty 17-inch big brother, though its feature-to-price ratio compared favourably. Now,...

Bootable SD card slot; improved battery life; higher quality display; entry-level price tag

No ExpressCard slot; integrated graphics processor has slower performance; no matte screen option; no video adapters or Apple Remote included

If you already have a unibody MacBook Pro, you will already have most of the great features these new models have to offer. However, if you’re a switcher, a new buyer, or have one of Apple’s older notebook models, you have a cornucopia of excellent...

No Apple warranty, it's through Newegg

To the previous reviewer who claims to have high tech knowledge, the warranty is through Newegg not Apple. It's not retail. My previous purchase was missing the power adapter, which Newegg wouldn't provide (not happy about that) but you get what you...

Mine works ok

Scratches and missing some stuff you'd get with retail purchase

It would have been nice if Newegg would have offered upgrade options like Ram and Hdds for combos with the Macbook

UPDATE to my last REVIEW: Works great, Upgraded the Ram from 4 gigs to 8 gigs, upgraded the Hdd from 250 to 500gb, using the 250 drive as an external for Linux. Runs Mac OSx, Windows 7 Ultimate and Linux very well on a 3 boot up option almost better...
