No Regrets

I realize this ARE refurb units and I happened to get lucky having one that was not abused. I figured when I purchased it that with NewEgg's reputation in customer service if I bought a lemon they would make it good.

I must admit I feel guilt after reading the other review. My Macbook came well packaged (generic). The notebook was in a protective sleeve with the power supply wrapped separate. I looked all over on this system and it looks new, not a single scratch...

I really don't have much to complain about, this purchase exceeded my expectations and for the price is an outstanding deal

Not bad for the price

Everything else about the unit is great besides those cons. The hinge is nice, display doesn't have any dark spots or LCD damage, speakers are fine, and trackpad/keyboard are beautiful. Happy with my purchase. :)

Quick little MacBook for a fantastic price. Memory modules are cheap so tossing out those 1GB sticks for a couple of 2GB sticks will not set you back for better performance. Memory and harddrive swapping is easy on this MacBook so upgrading to an SSD...

Being the refurbished unit that I got, it's still a little messy. Scuffs on the screen from the keyboard and trim around the keyboard, big scuff on the bottom-front edge, and what looked like dried tomato sauce in the ethernet and display port holes

Functionally perfect, but...

I re-read NewEgg's definition of a refurbished product, and while it implies that a product may have been used, it doesn't say that unit may be delivered with cosmetic imperfections and/or non-functional blemishes. Also, I interpreted the description...

The MacBook is functionally perfect, and the screen looks new and so does the keyboard (i.e. no cosmetic imperfections or signs of use). The only thing I did out of the box was to replace the memory it came with, with two 4 GB SO-DIMMS (CORSAIR 8GB (2...

As mentioned, the refurbished unit is functionally perfect and arrived with the screen and keyboard showing no cosmetic imperfections or signs of wear. However, the outside of the case and the screen cover are a different story. The bottom of the case...

Great Machine

According to Apple's Documents, it's upgradeable to 3 GB of RAM. To my surprise; after installing 2 x 2 GB PC2-6400 @ 800 MHz Kingston memory, the machine was able to recognize 4 GB. Kingston part KTA-MB800K2/4GR (Kingston's 4GB upgrade kit)

Very easily upgradeable. Runs Windows 7 in 64bit using bootcamp. I installed an Intel 530 Series SSD in this computer. It boots up Lion incredibly fast and Windows launch is also far superior to my Dell Laptop. I highly recommend this machine... great...

I am not sure you can upgrade this to Mountain Lion. Check with Apple. That is the only reason why I took an egg away

I find it very hard to find help when needed. To transfer address book from old computer, change fonds, lettering size, adding new emails to address book and finding emails. All simple tasks ,very easy to do in my old Windows.

I am no longer a PC.

I am no longer a PC.

I still have tons to learn about using Macs, but within just a few minutes after setting up The Precious, I was using it like I had owned one for years. I find it more user friendly than any of the nine PC's I've owned over the years. I didn't...
