Apple MacBook Pro Spring 2010 (Core 2 Duo 2.4GHz, 4GB RAM, 250GB HDD, 13-inch)

Editors' note (February 24, 2011): Apple has updated its line of MacBook Pros with new second-generation Intel Core i-series processors, AMD and Intel HD 3000 graphics, and high-speed Thunderbolt I/O ports. See CNET's coverage of the Winter 2011...

Strong battery life; improved Nvidia graphics.

Still uses a Core 2 Duo processor; no new ports added; expensive compared with Core i3 laptops.

The new 13-inch MacBook Pro uses a faster version of last year's processor, but a graphics chip upgrade and better battery life give it more value for the same price.

Apple MacBook Pro Spring 2010 (Core 2 Duo 2.4GHz, 4GB RAM, 250GB HDD, 13-inch)

This laptop has been a great companion of mine. I can take it just about anywhere and never have to worry about the battery going flat. Like many I was unfamiliar with Mac OS, this was the first apple computer I had ever bought brand new. Out of the...

Great battery life, fast start up, zippy performance, durable and has a great operating system

Core 2 Duo processor, some issues with dual booting windows. Not for a gamer

Nice piece of engineering with great performance.

Very nice peace of engineering, fast, and reliable. The optical audio output through the 3.5mm jack rocks! I've even loaded my MAC through windows XP and runs way better than many PCs made for it ; One thing much people haven't mentioned, this Laptop almo

Mini display ports require adapters and stuff, makes everything more expensive (but i guess this is just part of apple's business) Haven't been able to match my LCDs native resolution (Sony Bravia) through HDMI, so image doesn't fit screen exactly (but th

The best piece of electronics I have ever Purchased

Amazing...Period. I purchased this machine at the same time a friend of mine purchased a Sony Vio and she is constantly having issues and to fix those issues takes some time. If I encounter an issue with anything, the architecture of this machine is so...

This machine is seamless and fast. Has excellent graphics and is designed beautifully. I have had this machine for over a year and it has never ever failed me

I wish it had an HDMI 1.4a port

Still among the best laptops out there.

It was very confusing to use at first. This was my first taste of Apple after all and even though some of the UIs are very iTunes-like, those quirks like multi-touch and even simply installing applications can get really nerve-racking. However, they...

Multi-touch, OSX, thin and nice looking, great support, almost everything

compatibility issues, this one out-of-the-box problem, steep learning curve

Best all-around laptop I've ever had (former PC user)

What is particularly relevant is my business partner and I have been using PCs since they were "invented" - putting them in place in numerous very large corporations and overseeing all related in the 80s - and have been Windows PC users since. We have...

(1) weight (2) screen size (3) Mac OS (4) Help function (it actually helps) (5) Office works just fine (6) Connectivity to "devices" (7) Customer service (8) Backup-recovery process

(1) Apple store salespeople (2) Some limitations on external devices and software
