Apple MacBook Pro (13in)

Apple's 13in MacBook Pro is the smallest notebook in the company's "Pro" range, but it still packs quite a punch. This laptop is a fantastic compromis...

Fantastic build quality and design, extremely long battery life, multi-touch trackpad, beefy processor and RAM options

RAM upgrades are expensive through Apple, no anti-glare display coating option, battery can't be removed

The 13in Apple MacBook has gone Pro, with more memory, beefier processors and an embedded battery that outlasts similar-sized notebooks we've tested. We would prefer an option for a more powerful graphics card though.

Apple MacBook Pro 13in

Review Shock horror – Apple laptop in so-so review scandal. The latest MacBook Pro with Retina Display [1] may be setting a new standard at the top of the range, however, this modest update for the standard 13in MacBook Pro looks rather like it's...

When my esteemed colleague Dabbsie reviewed the 2011 model last November [5] he bemoaned the MacBook’s high price but concluded that it was justified as this was ‘the best bloody entry-level laptop in the world’. This year’s model is just as good, but...

Non-Retina MacBook Pro review

Apple's MacBook Pro line-up is largely dominated by Retina MacBook Pro models, but there is one lonely non-Retina MacBook Pro left, available to buy from Apple for £899.

Optical disc drive, slightly cheaper than Retina model, Ethernet, FireWire 800

No Retina display, no 15in model, no flash-storage option, heavier than Retina models, Retina models have better battery life, two-year-old hardware

Apple MacBook Pro 13in Retina display

Apple squeezes a gorgeous Retina display into its slimmed-down 13in MacBook Pro, but at a staggering price

Not only the pixel count has improved, though. Colour accuracy is slightly better than last year’s model, with the average Delta E of 3.6 dropping to 2.6, and contrast has gone from 650:1 to an exemplary 999:1. Viewing angles are wide, the panel covers...

good to go
