Apple MacBook Pro (15 inch) review: Apple MacBook Pro (15 inch, Summer 2012)

Not very long ago, to be the 15-inch MacBook was to be the life of the laptop party. Big and powerful, yet still slim and attractive, the college kids wanted MacBook Airs, while the designers and artists wanted the 15-inch MacBook Pro (or, in a few...

A faster processor, improved graphics, and USB 3.0 highlight a series of internal improvements in the new 15-inch MacBook Pro .

The unchanged design is starting to feel a little dated. Any real structural changes, HDMI, higher-res displays, were reserved for the Retina display version of the MacBook Pro.

Another year of incremental improvements for the 15-inch Apple MacBook Pro help it maintain its lead as a useful, powerful, attractive midsize laptop, but the competition is closer than ever to catching up.

Apple 13" MacBook Pro

The first major refresh of the MacBook Pro line in several years is controversial because Apple removed most ports and switched to a very low travel 12" MacBook style keyboard to make a thin laptop even thinner (14.9mm). It's also a half pound lighter...

Fantastic build and good looks. Superb display, OS X Sierra is a fine OS

Expensive- what a price hike! More for good looks than Pro work: oddball butterfly low travel keyboard, no legacy ports except headphone jack

I've been a Mac user since the late 1980's when they were tall beige boxes with floppy drives. Apple has had their ups and downs, but I've stuck with them because their OS is solid, their build and materials excellent, the hardware and features often...

13-inch Apple MacBook Pro review

The 2012 refresh gives Apple's most portable MacBook Pros an exciting upgrade

New processors ; Better integrated graphics ; Unibody build ; USB 3.0 ; Excellent screen

No discrete graphics ; Limited upgrade options ; Only a small speed bump ; Slow hard drives ; Cheaper model only Core i5

Apple upgraded its entire range of notebooks with the mid-2012 refresh. Although the 15-inch MacBook Pro with Retina display has grabbed most of the headlines, the entry-level 13-inch MacBook Pro shouldn't be overlooked.

Apple Macbook Pro (13in)

Apple's smallest MacBook Pro laptop has plenty of power and a long battery life

Fantastic build quality and design, extremely long battery life, multi-touch trackpad, beefy processor and RAM options

RAM upgrades are expensive through Apple, no anti-glare display coating option, battery can't be removed

The 13in Apple MacBook has gone Pro, with more memory, beefier processors and an embedded battery that outlasts similar-sized notebooks we've tested. We would prefer an option for a more powerful graphics card though.

Apple MacBook Pro (13in)

Apple's 13in MacBook Pro is the smallest notebook in the company's "Pro" range, but it still packs quite a punch. This laptop is a fantastic compromis...

Apple MacBook Pro 13in

Review Shock horror – Apple laptop in so-so review scandal. The latest MacBook Pro with Retina Display [1] may be setting a new standard at the top of the range, however, this modest update for the standard 13in MacBook Pro looks rather like it's...

When my esteemed colleague Dabbsie reviewed the 2011 model last November [5] he bemoaned the MacBook’s high price but concluded that it was justified as this was ‘the best bloody entry-level laptop in the world’. This year’s model is just as good, but...

"Terrible Delivery and Customer service"

"Final Verdict: Well Worth the Money"

After owning my MacBook for a month I finally feel ready to review it accurately. Let me start off by saying that I was highly reluctant to spend so much money on a laptop. I've always been a Windows guy so I've known that you can buy laptops with...

The Macbook Pro is a wonderful machine - haven't had any problem with it yet. Even though Apple prices are more expensive than Microsoft products (HP, Dell, etc), Apple products should last longer and have better quality built in. It's fast enough for...
