excellent build quality; - good display; - large trackpad with comprehensive gesture support; - long battery life; - compact dimensions; - comparatively high performance

low display resolution; - slow hard drive; - SSD at a premium; - battery not user exchangeable; - fan is loud under load

The mobility factor of this notebook. We are not only talking about the fairly low weight here or the compact dimensions, but also about the very long battery life. Especially under Mac OS X the MacBook Pro keeps going...and going...

Review Apple MacBook Pro 15 Late 2011 (2.4 GHz, 6770M, glare)

More Bang for the Buck. In a Late 2011 Refresh the MacBook Pro 15

Quality of the case; High-quality display; Very good input devices; Very quiet in low load scenarios

Case can get very hot; Down clocked 6770M graphics card; Loud under heavy load; Base configuration: low resolution, glossy display; Few interfaces; Throttling under heavy CPU and GPU load - likely because of an insufficiently dimensioned power adapter

Apple users will only consider laptops from Apple. The entry-level model with 2.2 GHz quad-core CPU and 6750M graphics card might be of particular interest. Furthermore, the smaller 13" model might be a good alternative because of its low price. If you...

MacBook Pro review (13-inch, mid-2012)

When the MacBook Pro with Retina display is in the game, Apple's "regular" Pros may seem a bit like also-rans. After all, why would you choose them when

Lovely design ; Comfortable keyboard and trackpad ; Good day-to-day performance

No discrete graphics ; Relatively low-res display

Apple's new 13-inch MacBook Pro may not be the star of the show now that the Retina model is in on the scene, but it nonetheless offers solid performance and a attractive, sturdy design.

Apple MacBook Pro 13-inch (Mid 2012)

The Apple MacBook Pro 13-inch (Mid 2012) gives us the familiar MacBook design with speedier performance and new faster USB 3.0 connections.

Solid construction and classic design. New Intel Core i7 processor gives performance a boost. Thunderbolt and USB 3.0 offer speedy connectivity

No HDMI without an extra dongle. Boilerplate resolution

Apple MacBook Pro 13-inch (Thunderbolt)

The Apple MacBook Pro 13-inch (Thunderbolt) will continue to be Apple's best selling laptop, thanks to a component overhaul and new technologies like Thunderbolt and FaceTime HD.

Core i5 processor is a long time coming. Gorgeous Unibody enclosure. Thunderbolt is in its early stages, but it looks promising. Webcam now streams in HD and works with Facetime app. Backlit keyboard. Glass Clickpad has no equals

Pricey. No improvement in graphics performance. Higher screen resolution not available

Apple MacBook Pro (13-inch, 2011)

The most well-rounded 13-inch notebook gets a serious speed boost and lasts even longer on a charge than its predecessor.

Apple has once again created a winning notebook. The 13-inch MacBook Pro is considerably faster than its predecessor yet lasts over 8 hours on a charge. We also like the new FaceTime HD camera and look forward to seeing Thunderbolt-enabled peripherals...

Apple MacBook Pro 13-inch (Core 2 Duo 2.4GHz)

Though it's only a component bump, the MacBook Pro 13-inch (Core 2 Duo 2.4GHz) is still a solid back-to-school, mainstream laptop.

Better battery life than its predecessors. Speed and memory bumps help performance. Unparalleled multi-touch gestures., Backlit keyboard. Excellent software bundle. Sturdy. Best looking chassis in its class

Intel Core 2 Duos are an aging processor technology. Heavy for a 13-inch laptop
