Acer Aspire TimelineX 4830TG-6808

The Acer Aspire Timeline X 4830TG-6808 mainstream laptop is a month or two behind the curve, but it's still a solid system with all-day battery life and a reasonable price.

Long-lasting battery. Decent discrete video with automatic switching. Portable design. Comfortable keyboard. Affordable.

Older processor. Smallish hard drive.

BEAST BATTERY

This is a great laptop. I bring it to school and it lasts me through all my classes. I don't even have to bring my charger. Depending on the usage, it easily lasts me 6-9 hours. The speakers aren't very loud so don't expect to be able to watch a movie...

Sad to see it's discontinued.

I'm tempted to recommend an Acer for a VP here at work. She is asking my opinion on a new notebook for her. I showed her mine and she seemed to like it enough to want to buy one.

We've had it for a couple months now. This has been a marvelous notebook, especially for the price. I love the core-i3 processor. The hard drive, even though it's slow, works great for what we need it to do. We haven't had any problems with it besides...
