Laptop Broke After First Use

The specs on this laptop are slightly better than average for a laptop in this price range

As you would expect, when running the set-up you are prompted to save the factory settings to disc. Putting the first disc in was not a problem. Getting the first disc out was a pain in the rear. What sort of laptop's eject button on the CD drive...

Awesome value, cool design

Packaging was very nice, minimal and easy to set up.

Quick setup, moderately low bloatware besides Norton and a few "ASUS" applications I could do without ; Touchpad had a grid texture on it, unique and felt good to use ; Never once was the fan audible. Had a cool exterior while using ; Screen is very...

Somewhat low battery life, looked like about 2 hours of use on a 100% charge. Moderately disappointed in that aspect ; Unable to multitask with Youtube open with installations running ; Prone to fingerprints from clean hands, barely a let down ;...

Worth Buying.

I plan to see about upgrading the memory to G-Skill brand and replacing the 5400rpm hard drive with an SSD but SSD's are so expensive.

ASUS Brand ; Grabbed 2 of these on sale for $329 ; Lightweight, fast, USB 3.0 port, DVD burner, Fair battery life ; wireless connection is good

Battery is only 4 cell ; Hard drive is 5400rpm which is expected

Great Deal

Sure it has a plastic case, but half of my crew cab diesel pickup is plastic or some type of composite material. This is just a reality with modern manufacturing methods designed to produce gadgets at the lowest cost and energy efficiency.

This is a great deal for the price. I bough the ASUS A54 Notebook as a travel unit so I didn't have to use my other notebook with all the data stored on board. It came with a free carry bag ; Screen is bright, sharp and ample, keyboard is large enough...

Like most OEM computers these days, the ASUS A54 came with a good deal of bloatware. I spent about two hours cleaning all the unneeded programs, such as McAfee off, and installing Vipre Internet Security 2013, Prevx and HMA Pro Secure Internet...

Good for the price.

I am satisfied with my purchase. I got it on sale with Free shipping. Good for school. Camera pixels isnt that great.

I would say that this laptop is very nice for the price I paid, which is 329.99$. The normal temp for my laptop is around 41, and If i use a cooler I can get the temp down to 37 ; This laptop also tries to conserve your energy usage; it gives you the...

Comes with a lot of ASUS bloatware, and trial antivirus. It also crashed once after restarting trying to update windows. (BSOD). Also, the battery life is okay, nothing too different for a 4 cell battery

Some Pet pevs

Overall, I believe this is a great computer for the price. If you are looking for a computer for school, work, or needed a another computer that is fast (when you take most of the bloatware off) this computer is for you. However, if you are trying to...

I bought this computer for my Mom so she can use the computer for school and learn how to use a computer for herself. My mother is not tech savvy so I had it delivered to me so I can simplify the desktop and other junk ; I like the amount of ram this...

However, there are some cons to this computer. I have been spoiled by my Alienware M15x so some of the cons may not matter, but there are a few ; If you like watching movies with VLC player or CCCP Media Player Classic do not buy this computer. The...

Great System (paid 329.99 shipped)

Have not plunged the battery in yet,so i don't know about the batt life but i doubt it is worse than the 2hrs on my old laptop IMPORTANT: You have to register your laptop to get accidental damage coverage via asus, you get 60 days to do this Put my HDD...

Fully Linux comparable with open source drivers, using Xubuntu 12.10 64bit (if a fn key does nothing it needs to be set in keyboard shortcuts, they all register a unique key press, even the numlock light behaves, so does the mic and webcam) ; Stays...

Small 0 key in number key pad (constantly hit the right arrow key) ; sometimes i hit the up arrow instead of shift ; i prefer the keyboard layout on my old HP CQ60-215DX, small price to pay for the performance (over 130% better) and temp improvements ;...

ASUS A54C-NB91

Great computer for the money. dumped win7 and loaded Linux Mate, all hardware and features work perfectly. The laptop is very efficient for a reasonably fast computer. Draws less than 25 watts and only 40 watts when charging battery. I really love this...

no bluetooth had to add dongle which linux picked up right away. Only 2 usb ports so added little 1 to 4 port

Seconds Please

As I stated the first time around everything works as advertised. USB 3.0 is fast and comes in handy when transferring large files. The laptop is running Win7 and Office 2010. Everything is surprisingly fast. The laptop is plastic but its pretty solid....

Couldn't update BIOS using the ASUS website support tools. USB 3.0 only works after you install the proper drivers from ASUS Support website. The trackpad was a bit funky at first
