Low-cost Chromebooks have fairly little to brag about. The Chromebook C200 is typical in many ways, but its stamina in our tests makes it one of the better choices in this price range.

Battery life exceeded eight hours in our stringent tests ; Inexpensive purchase price

Hard-plastic keys are tough to type on ; Poky performance

The Asus Chromebook C200 has a few advantages compared to other 11-inch models: A battery that lasted over eight hours in our stringent tests, and a pending update for 802.11ac Wi-Fi. In most other ways,...

ASUS C200 review: The company's first Chromebook is a battery life champ

The C200 Chromebook offers best-in-class battery life and a comfortable keyboard, but is held back by sluggish performance. For the same price or even less, you can find a Chromebook that runs more smoothly.

Very long battery life ; Comfortable keyboard and trackpad ; Lightweight

Sluggish performance ; Poor viewing angles

The C200 has a few important things going for it: Its battery life is easily best in class, and the spacious, cushy keyboard makes it one of the better Chromebooks for typing. Still, its performance is actually worst in class, which is saying a lot...

Asus C200 Chromebook

The Asus C200 Chromebook has a new Intel processor and 802.11ac Wi-Fi for fast, robust Web connectivity. It's a solid basic computer for those who prefer the laptop form factor to tablets.

11+-hour battery life in our tests. 802.11ac Wi-Fi. Plenty of ports for connectivity. Boots quickly. Good sound quality. Full-featured browser

No 4G/WWAN option. Screen has narrower viewing angle than an In-Plane Switching (IPS) display. Limited local storage. Attracts fingerprints easily

The Asus C200 Chromebook ($249) is a basic laptop for those who use PCs primarily to access the Internet. Like other Chromebooks, the C200 will get you online and give you easy access to Google services like Google Drive, Google Play Music, and...

Asus Chromebook C200 Review and Ratings

A low price, solid build quality, and excellent battery life make Asus' 11.6-inch Chromebook a handy companion to augment your main PC. But the C300 model with its larger screen is an even better value.

Affordable ; Superb battery life ; Comfortable keyboard and touch pad ; Decent audio quality

Smallish screen ; No keyboard backlight

In our trials, we had no problems with lag or dropped frames when streaming videos from Amazon or watching YouTube. The Chromebook felt just as fast for these chores as any laptop.

Asus C200 Chromebook review: Long battery life, moderate performance

The Asus C200 Chromebook is a 2.5 pound laptop that offers up to 12 hours of battery life and sells for

I wouldn’t necessarily recommend this notebook for everyone. But folks who can live with its limitations (and who probably have a better PC at home, but need something portable for use on the go), can get a lot more for $249 today than they could a few...

Asus Chromebook C200

Asus is the latest big name to the Chromebook party, with its 11.6in and 13.3in models, the smaller of which we've looked at here. First impressions don't inspire that much excitement. The silver metallic finish on the chassis around the keyboard and...

If battery life means more than performance, then the C200 has stamina to spare
