Asus DB51 review

The Asus Zenbook was one of the first entrants in the new ultrabook category when it launched in late 2011. We liked that original system, despite a few serious flaws, and the all-metal design marked it as a direct competitor to the MacBook Air .

The Asus Zenbook UX32A has the sharp design of other Zenbooks we've reviewed, but is even slimmer.

Other ultrabooks offer similar components for less, while spending a bit more will get you a much more full-featured Zenbook.

Stuck between a budget model and a high-end, feature-filled model, this middle Asus Zenbook is a slim, slick ultrabook, but also a tough sell.

"A beautiful form factor - too bad it ends there."

Boots fast but the OS stares at you. So if "boot time" means "time to usability" it is not as fast as you might think. Screen dims for a second every minute or so. Yes I have disabled adaptive brightness on every power setting and it still thinks it is...

Small, light, great touch screen, beautifully lit keyboard.

Fails to connect to the internet when other people have no difficulty. A constant, daily problem. Neither Asus nor BestBuy has provided any solution to it. Each blames the other. I have a full support contract.

Light, responsive and making me forget my Ipad2

Love this thing.

The SSD and I7 Chip make this a real rocket with outstanding battery life. This thing compiles MP4s at amazing rates. A great traveling companion as well. Its like carrying a light book. It's $1,000 less than a MacBook Pro.

Mouse is a little sensitive and has me moving to other locations unwantedly. Speakers are clear but the volume could be a little higher. It's a pricey.

"I've finally found a laptop that suits all of my needs."

I really do love this laptop. I would like to have 256GB of space (and will). The screen I have has no bleed at all. It is just plain gorgeous. I cannot detect single a pixel. It is the best I have seen. I cannot tell the difference between this and...

Beautiful, amazing screen.

It could use a control reverse for f key functions on laptop. The levels of the screen and keyboard brightness need to have a lower and higher range. The SSD needs to be reformatted if you want any real space. It comes with about 65 GB usable.

Beautiful, amazing screen. Great keyboard. Great track pad. Good palm recognition without cursor jump. Very Light weight with a very solid build. A very cozy user feeling. An incredible, sexy design. My personal favorite. Toned down and professional.

"Good, but not perfect."

Overall this is a good computer. I am trying to decide if I will return this one for another because of the light bleeding, but I am not sure due to the fact that it doesn't bother me that much. In addition, I have seen reviews of people returning the...

Amazing screen quality

Small amount of light bleeding when completely dark

Amazing screen quality Increased speed of Sandisk SSD from a 5.9 windows experience in the UX31E to a 7.5 on this new UX31A Keyboard is much better and back light nicely No more sound distortion at high levels Trackpad is Elan and works fine

Small amount of light bleeding when completely dark Slower bootup time Battery life doesn't seem as good Does not seem to trickle charge while constantly plugged in Space is an issue on this model. Around 65GB out box The sound is flat and lifeless
