Review of the Asus Eee PC 1000HE Mininotebook

The Enduring One Asus offers an almost unmanageable range of mini

Extremely long battery life; Solid chassis; Good, matt display; Good distribution of ports; Quiet operating noise under low work load; Good Keyboard

The test model temporarily had a loud crackling of the hard disk; The touch pad takes getting used to; Display brightness suited for outdoor usage can only be reached at one's own risk via the eeectl tool

As far as the battery life is concerned, the Asus Eee PC 1000HE is unrivaled at the moment. Possible alternatives with not quite as long battery life are the Samsung NC10 or the Acer Aspire One 531, these are also somewhat lighter, but not as powerful.
