The ASUS EeePC 1201N is the best 12-inch netbook in the market, even though it only has 4 hours of battery life.

Dual-core Atom processor. Nvidia's Ion platform benefits smooth HD playback and light 3D gaming. Lightweight. Full size keyboard. Fastest netbook available. Large 12-inch widescreen. HDMI port included. 2GB of RAM standard

Battery life is a tradeoff.

Asus Eee PC Seashell 1201N

Dual-core Atom processor, solid gaming graphics for a Netbook, large screen, affordable for its features.

Awkward touch pad, mediocre battery life.

As one of the few Netbooks with a dual-core Atom processor and Nvidia Ion graphics, the 12.1-inch EeePC 1201N has superior performance compared with most Atom-based machines, but any higher-level ULV thin-and-light will still do better.

Ion meets Eee. As far as netbooks are concerned, Asus has always

Attractive case; Solid workmanship; HDMI port, 3x USB; Fully functional keyboard; 12 inch display with HD resolution bids a good overview; Good CPU and GPU performance data; Gaming suitable with restrictions; Low case heating

Smudge susceptible high gloss surfaces; Average VGA quality; Keyboard has clattery areas; Average display brightness and glare surface prevent outdoor use; Always present fan

In a tighter sense, Ion models of other brands: Samsung N510, HP Mini 311 followed by 13" ULV Notebooks: Asus UL30, Toshiba T130, HP Pavilion dm3, Dell Vostro V13, Samsung X120, ... still in the race: classic netbooks of all manufacturers.
