I didn't want to believe the other reviews

I feel as if I wasted $400 on a laptop that couldn't perform a basic need (a working internal wireless card)

- Priced reasonably - Solid build quality - Good battery life

- The laptop no longer turns on or charges. It's been 6 months. This is in line with other reviews I've read, but I didn't want to believe it. - The whole reason I'm hesitant to get an RMA on this product, is because of the wireless adapter. The...

The Design Hampers the Performance

You can play most games on it

You'd think you get better performance from its specs, but not really.

Not a bad Product!

Bought this computer back in December and have not had any issues. My son uses it on a daily basis. If you can handle the upgrades and have basic knowledge of computers, this is not a bad computer.

Bought it for one of my boys. I was surprised by the speed of this computer. I must admit, I added 8 more gigs of ram and upgraded the hard drive to 240 SSD. I also clean installed Window 10. With all these upgrades, works better than a Toshiba i7 we...

As stated above, have to add a little more than $100.00 in upgrades to make it stand out! It is not easy to open up the computer to install the ssd drive.

ASUS Laptop F554LA-NH51 Intel Core i5 5200U (2.20 GHz) 4 GB Memory 500 GB HDD Intel HD Graphics 5500 15.6" Windows 10 Home 64-Bit

I would not recommend this laptop and I would never buy anything from Newegg.

i thought i was getting a good deal ...

I bought two laptops for my sons for Christmas 2015, To do school work and check email. I don't let them play games on them. One laptop stopped working in at the end of February 2016 and the second stopped working this week in March 2016. I would never...

$250 laptop with a $500 pricetag

Contrary to the experience of another user, I upgraded to Win10 the first day I got it with no heartache other than possibly losing any pre-installed track-pad disabling software. Whatever other bloat there may have been was wiped clean too, though....

8gb ram

Worst part about this is hands down the track pad. I'd suffer in quiet dissatisfaction through the flimsy discount construction (you've probably gotten sturdier fast food containers) and the fact that it seems to have problems extending to other...

Display/graphics failed within 5 months of purchase

Don't buy this computer. Waste of money. There are better out there at this price point.

Light, long battery life

Where do I start? Graphics/monitor failed within 5 months of purchase. ASUS has not responded to my request for a remedy. Very slow computer, but what do you expect for the price? Touch pad is wonkey and doesn't respond well to input.

Terrible quality, good for use

- I would not recommend this to other people - I would not purchase this product again, nor keep it if it was given to me as a gift - I would become CEO of ASUS computers and spend a little extra in R&D to put higher-quality parts

- it can successfully handle the internet! - recognizes WiFi signals and can connect to them! - you get exactly what you pay for - value!

- touchpad will either not work, or will take several minutes (when waking from sleep/restart) to be any kind of useful - similarly, the multi-touch/gestures feature of said trackpad also almost never works - incredibly cheap feeling. Literally every...

Great Build Quality For $350

I've always felt Asus products were a bit over-priced, but this laptop for $350 is nearly impossible to beat.

Has a pretty color accurate display, solid keyboard, solid mouse pad, with a solid design. All the software works flawless even know its on windows 10.

Wish it had a better wi-fi adapter that support 5ghz frequencies. It's not a true quad core like most i5s, it's a dual core with HT but preforms well.

You get what you pay for

-I would only recommend if speed is NOT any of your top priorities. Seriously, don't expect much from this laptop. Literally only expect to use this casually.

I got this for around $350 at the time, and still works fine. Had some issues with Windows update but everything still runs as expected. -Decent for the price -Works as intended

-Not an SSD, so will slow down significantly after awhile -Windows Update had some issues and would get hung up a little. Works fine now.
