Not too shabby

Decent performance, Windows 8 runs well enough anyway. Its not used for anything intense so serves the purpose of a surfing/word processing pc. You get what you pay for. $300 isn't much. In hindsight I would spend a little more next time.

Cost

Power supply seems to get stuck. Sometimes it doesn't want to turn on. I end up removing the battery and then it fires up

OK hardware sorry software

I have tried to not let my feelings about the software overly influence my coments about the laptop. It would have been nice if Asus supplied instructions on how to get rid of the MS software and install either and earlier version or one of the good...

The screen has a crisp image, the case is lightweight beyond these two observations it is just too early to jusdge ; Of courese Newegg was quick to ship, had the unit days earlier than expected

The keyboard is a bit cramped compared to the toshiba that I'm used to ; And like others have pointed out, Windows 8 is a bunch of @%$#%$! If I had wanted a "stupid phone" thats what I would have bought

ASUS delivered

This product replaces a 2 year old ASUS that crapped out on us. Never had a problem until then! Make S/N tag bigger, please.

Very easy to start using even with my Windows 8 learning curve. Updated right out of the box. Does everything it's supposed to

Attempted to register online and the s/n wasn't working? I emailed ASUS for help. Difficult to read the s/n because of number/letter confusion. Plus it's like 0.5 inches x 1 inch

Pretty decent laptop

Regarding removing Win8: I had to read a whole bunch of different solutions, and it wasn't easy. Aside from disabling Secure Boot in bios, enabling CSM, and setting SATA config to IDE, I had to pull out the laptop's hard-drive, plugging it in to my...

Decent low-end laptop. Nice and bright screen, large keyboard buttons, battery life isn't too short. Good for web-surfing, (not so) older games (hence a nice Radeon video-chipset) and just doing all regularities. Might be a good idea to invest into...

Touch-pad is overly sensitive and takes some time getting used to ; Windows 8 :( I know some people like it, but I hated its awkward interface, its dependency on apps and multiple screen, and its use of tons of different partions on a single...

Great secondary computer

I have been very satisfied with the purchase of this laptop. It is an away from the desktop computer, so I never had any delusions of buying a supreme gaming machine. It is more than adequate for medium duty computing. It handles photoshop surprisingly...

Dedicated graphics, USB 3.0, Great price for the included hardware

Clunky keyboard, overly sensitive touchpad
