Good for the money.

I've owned at least 12 laptops, including some of the most expensive notebooks in the world, costing half as much as a brand NEW car, and they've eventually failed. Unrepairable MB failures, hinges that beg for disaster, completely unrepairable...

newegg ROCKS. The price was killer ; looks aren't great, but they are not "boy racer" embarrassing either ; port outlets are sensibly placed for my preferences ; image quality is good ; the 2GB of mem is a 1 x 2GB, and doesn't take up both slots. THANK...

average amount of bloatware ; typical 19,742 recovery disk, with no clean windows disk ; vista business ; design/looks are funeral-worthy ; the speed diff between equipped windows vista 32 and 7 is shocking. Equipping this x64 capable book with 32 op...

Happy camper

Great buy for the money. Loaded with features and speed and all for a great price. I've owned 20+ laptops over the years and this is my first Asus - and will not be my last.

14" portable, under 6lbs, decent battery life (3 hrs with normal use at my night classes), great speed and gaming ability. The Core 2 Duo 2.4Ghz and the 9650m GT are an excellent combo. Vista 64 and 4gb ram also works perfectly together. Keyboard and...

Loud mouse buttons, they don't bother me but when others start noticing the clicking then it's louder than it should be

Very nice Laptop

I'm really enjoying this PC so far. I have built my own PCs for years and this is my first laptop. It stinks that you can't request WinXP but as long as you're fairly competent, you can navigate through Vista's bloat and see this PC for how good it...

This a fantastic "catch all" laptop. Gives you the ability to do some gaming, enjoy some media, and get some work done. The keyboard is very smooth and the touchpad is very accurate. (I hate touchpads and I was even impressed by this one). The mouse...

The crapware on this thing is unbelievable. Take 45 minutes and remove it or do a fresh install

best ASUS laptop yet

Perfect--you will be disappointed if you do not take the time to look at this laptop when making a buying decision.

Beautiful finish, very sturdy--no flex anywhere, great keyboard, amazing screen, minimum bloatware, fast, quiet, and cool

Honestly this is the best ASUS laptop I have resold yet and I have zero gripes

Great Overall Laptop

Great laptop, powerful, can do lots of gaming on high res and specs. If you want t a nice, powerful laptop but not looking for anything too extreme or too expensive, this is a great buy. I gave it 4/5 instead of 5/5 because resolution is a hair low, no...

Great hardware specs for the price

Does not come with windows cd (this is normal but it is still a con when compared to the few laptops you can still buy that come with a cd) which sort of sucked because although the asus software can be neat it is still clunky for the computer and I...

Overall good

It is overall good, the graphics card is nice, cpu is good, runs pretty smoothly. Good laptop for gaming for sure

Battery doesn't last very long, don't expect long life. The fan is blowing right onto where you would have an external mouse and quite frankly gets quite hot. This is possibly a problem with laptops in general though. Oh, and it has vista, but that...

I love this freakin' laptop

These issues are annoying, but since the Sound works fine and I don't need the Fingerprint Scanner (and haven't looked very hard for the Utility anyway except on the website, so that might be an easy fix), the only real problem is the Touchpad. Oh, and...

Fantastic specs, great price for set of specs, great list of extras (Express Gate is GREAT). VERY very fast. Much better battery life than I expected (2.5 to 4 hours during lite usage, much better than that on Express Gate)

There's the Fn / Ctrl mixup, which I adapted to quickly, and was only a problem for the first day. Also, the mouse buttons are FINE. Loud, yes, a little ; worth mentioning, definitely not

Good but not great

Overall it's a decent laptop... I focused on the cons because I know I like to read what other people put there. I just think there were too many annoyances for a brand new laptop to give it anymore than 3 eggs.

You get alot of bang for your buck, great components at a good price. Lots of functionality, plays games great. Performance is great

Function key and ctrl key are reversed. This was a big issue for me it's really annoying. XP drivers are not supported unless you search the depths of the internet and forums. You can eventually find everything you need but a huge pain and waste of...

Perfect for Ubuntu but awful keyboard and touchpad

Buy it if you need Ubuntu, but not else because the input devices are so rough.

Fully functional for Ubuntu 8.10 64- you only have to add the one line that is post here in another review to get sound. The graphics work after you restart and accept the restricted drivers when Ubuntu offers them. Wifi and bluetooth works out of the...

The keyboard and touch pad are just terrible

Good performance - but not the best as a portable

It's a great computer, with very good performance, but I would recommend it to people who are looking for a good "stationery" laptop with an occasional trip to the couch (or to the office and back).

Very good performance, especially for the money you pay

As said, many aspects make this computer not the best if you're looking for something portable
