ASUS F8VA-B1 User Review

With the market taking a seat on a rollercoaster, consumers may have doubt about whether or not to shell out the cash to purchase a high end laptop. Fortunately, ASUS has brought the F8VA-B1 to the market, which offers all of the impressive features of...

Asus F8Va

It may not be the sexiest notebook in town, but Asus' 14.1-inch laptop is Centrino 2 certified, and sports some excellent multimedia capabilities.

Centrino 2 certified, Five USB ports, eSATA, HDMI, Blu-ray and HDTV tuner

Lacklustre design, Average battery life

ASUS F8Va

A laptop with the lot

Great performance, plenty of connectivity, Blu-ray player, digital TV tuner

Poor battery life, design could be better

With stacks of features and plenty of connectivity, the F8Va is the perfect choice for the home user who wants a mid-sized desktop replacement unit. Its battery life is poor, and we think its design could be better, but it's a solid unit overall.

Asus F8Va

It may not be the sexiest notebook in town, but Asus' 14.1-inch laptop is Centrino 2 certified, and sports some excellent multimedia capabilities.

Centrino 2 certified ; Five USB ports ; eSATA ; HDMI ; Blu-ray and HDTV tuner

Lacklustre design ; Average battery life

It mightn't be the most attractive laptop available, but it has plenty of grunt to play with and enough multimedia features to please people introducing themselves to the next generation of couch potato-ism. A single HD tuner is hardly going to replace...

ASUS...................

Great Laptop................

This is a great Laptop for the price. You can't get a better deal. The screen is nice and bright and very crisp. Its a very fast laptop. I am still learning everything with this laptop but for now what I know its great.

Position of the heating vent right near ur hand on the right. Not really a big deal but thats all I could think of.

this is good

overall, very nice i do love everything in this comp. well, after i got everything to work the way i wanted....vista is a memory hugger.........highly recommend this laptop for portability and medium range gaming. i play warhammer 40000 with no problem.

i've been looking and reading about good laptops here at newegg and i've been so satisfied since the first day i bought this laptop. everything work as supposed to and the fingerprint log on feature is FREAKING AMAZING. i love the 14"" screen, it's not...

it's very prone too fingerprints especially on the back of the screen. i don't like it. vista loaded and it was a hassle to work with without tweaking it. Although i got 3g of ram, i still feel that the computer was too slow for me. I took care of the...

a little update

Still love it!

I just need to add my 2 cent toward my earlier review. WARRANTY!!! 2 YEARS!!!! 1 YEAR accidental warranty. I called ASUS USA and asked about it. They cover one repair or replace if they can not fix it if: you drop, spill or damage the laptop. ONCE only...

I found another a small thing which annoyed me. The inputs for headphones and mic are both BLACK. I guess I get use to colorized them so the gren is headphones , yellow is mic. Easier to find. But it is a small thing.

Very Nice

nice free carrying case.

Very nice, heat sink does great job at keeping the laptop cool during gaming and it is very silence. Monitor are sharp and very bright. Run TF2 nice and smooth.

can be a little heavy but it is worth it. Driver only support vista.
