The Asus G50VT-X5 offers great gaming performance for under $1,000, but it's missing some basic amenities we've come to expect, and the lightning-bolt design may not appeal to all.
The $949 15.6-inch Asus G50VT-X5 certainly looks the part of a gaming laptop...

500 gig HD 7200, 4 gigs of ram, GEFORCE 9800M GT. Sleek looking machine. Option to boot into linux instead of Windows if your just gonna access email, im or surf the web. Cool lighting effects. free backpack, razor diamond back mouse, and video game.
The speakers royally suck. Some of the included features are useless. No volume control without the Fn button.
