Asus G53SX: Monster Performance in a Monster Machine

Asus's G53SX proves that you don't need to spend a ton of money to get a decent gaming machine--if you don't mind toting around an 8-pound monster. The G53SX is the perfect desktop-replacement-size all-purpose machine for gamers: it packs excellent...

Excellent performance ; Great specs for the price

Poor video playback ; Huge. Bulky. Heavy

The Asus G53SX is built for a very specific person: a gamer who doesn't care about basic multimedia functionality…or portability.

ASUS G53SX-A1 Review: Powerful Portable Gaming

This latest addition to the ASUS G-series gaming notebook lineup has fantastic performance, a great 15-inch 1080p screen, and a stealthy design. See why we recommend it.

Good 1080p screen ; Excellent performance ; Runs cool and quiet ; Two-year warranty standard

Average port selection ; So-so keyboard ; GTX 560M graphics not as fast as outgoing GTX 460M

ASUS continues to produce excellent all around gaming notebooks and the G53SX is no exception. It has fantastic performance, a great screen, sharp design, and even has decent battery life.

ASUS G53SX 15.6-inch Gaming Notebook Review

Enthusiast-level gaming notebooks don't need to cost a fortune; something ASUS proves with its $1,249 G53SX 15.4" offering. It features a 1080p display and an NVIDIA GTX 560M that's able to power today's games to it. This, in addition to an Intel...

When I first received the G53SX, I didn't think too much into it before cracking open the box. But I sure didn't expect to fall in love with it either. I've tested a fair number of gaming notebooks in this price-range before, and none felt completely...

Asus G53SX

The Asus G53SX is one strong performing laptops thanks to its Intel Core i7 CPU, 12GB of RAM and a discrete Nvidia graphics card with 2GB of dedicated memory. It has a bulky, heavy design but if you're looking for solid performance and great gaming...

Asus G53SX review

Asus's G53SX proves that you don't need to spend a ridiculous amount of money to get a decent gaming laptop - if you don't mind toting around a 4kg monster. The G53SX is the perfect desktop-replacement-size all-purpose machine for gamers: it packs...

The Asus G53SX will please a very specific group of people, and disappoint others. Gamers looking for power in an inexpensive package may overlook the bulkiness and the poor audio quality (which headphones can quickly remedy). But the G53SX's ponderous...

Pin in DC jack broke 3 days after warranty expired.

Obviously a design flaw given the number of complaints Pin should not taper. Also my ac adapter is now useless as it has a pin stuck in it I can't remove.

Awesome in every other way ; SSD as boot drive 500GB in secondary bay

Pin in DC jack sticks in factory ac adapter and breaks out of jack

Huge Disappointment

I have had nothing but excellent service from all the ASUS products I have purchased over more than a decade now. Laptops, motherboards, video cards, all good. 4 laptops ranging from ultra book to G series top end laptops have all functioned...

Very nice case design

Did not work out of the box, and had to be sent back to ASUS

Good power for price poorly designed

Its a good computer but it is somewhat poorly designed and has a cheap feel to it. you get what you pay for.

For the price, you cant beat the power. It performs pretty well. It plays Battlefield 3 as well as other demanding games

Poor design causes cables to get stuck between the monitor hinge and jet like vents which can cause damage to hinges and casing. It only plays Battlefield 3 at about 50 fps on low settings. Optimally you want a game like that to play at 60

Design Flaw: LCD Connection

BEWARE: If you get this laptop and it's defective, (Odds are, it will be), It will be a VERY INTERMITTENT Problem. Meaning, It only happens about every 6-24 hours. So when you try to RMA it, and they don't see the problem that you have seen, they will...

This laptop has great cooling, and a nice, soft palm rest ; my GTX 280 graphics card performs better than the one in this laptop, but it's still nice

I have now had to RM this laptop 3 consecutive times. There is a design flaw in the connection from the LCD to the video card, that causes wild colors and intermittent LCD failure ; I am very concerned that this problem will persist way past my...
