Review Asus G60VX Gaming Notebook

A Gamers' Dream? Asus shows courage for design and equips the G60

Futuristic design; Many connections; Very high performance; Stable turbo mode; Mouse and backpack included; Express Gate

Poor display lid stability; Slightly yielding keyboard; Fairly high noise development; Low battery life; Medium display brightness; Disappointing sound

Weaker, but cheaper gaming notebooks like the MSI GX623 or MSI GT628. Other efficient gaming notebooks under 1500 Euros like the MSI GT725 or the Asus G71GX.

ASUS G60Vx lappy smuggled out of the Peoples Republic of Gamers for in-depth review

Sure, it looks good enough on paper, but how does the new G60Vx gaming laptop from ASUS stack up in the real world? The kids at Bit-Tech have got their hands on this guy and have been cool enough to let us in on their findings. According to the ...

Asus G60Vx notebook review

Gaming laptops occupy a strange space in the market. Most hardcore PC gamers like to tweak and upgrade their machines, so opt for cheaper, upgradable desktop towers that they build themselves. More casual gaming fans make do with lower performance on...

Great keyboard, respectable performance

Low screen resolution, poor battery life

A series of compromises, but an acceptable result

A new gaming laptop from Asus coincides with weather perfect for playing in the park. Should you take the ROG G60 outside?

A catchy design that's packed full of top components, but the screen and keyboard let it down

Asus G60VX

In a world where technology is steadily shrinking, gaming laptops are a stubborn exception to the rule. Uncompromised gaming power requires powerful components, and while that's fine in the roomy environs of a desktop tower, it's more of a challenge in...

Power, strong build and plenty of style and panache make this a gaming laptop worth paying for

Great gaming laptop for low price

Replaced CPU grease prior to purchase with Artic Silver. Heavy, but I'm using it at home for the most part. I AM IN LOVE WITH THIS LAPTOP, EVEN WITH THE CONS!

Easy to access key parts for repair if needed, 2nd HDD slot is awesome, can handle every game I've thrown at it so far (Arkham Asylum, WoW, Just Cause 2) at max settings, great picture, very durable

Had to buy an external portable Altec Lansing speaker for $30 because the volume isn't that great. Really not a big deal. FINGERPRINT MAGNET! Also, battery life is only about 1 hr 15 minutes unplugged with the 6 cell, but hey, it's a desktop...

For those with Wireless issue

Now, for those having the Wireless issue where your connection gets disabled/turned off. I had the same thing happen where my hardware switch got moved to off when I was packing it up and when I turned it back on, I wouldn't re-enable. There is also a...

Solid gaming laptop, runs everything great ; Although a refurb looks brand new, not a mark on this one, I got really lucky ; Not as large as I expected, though definitely large for a laptop ; Great price point for a gaming laptop. Asus seemed (judging...

It does have the audio issue that others have stated, where the speakers don't work but headphone do. If that's the only problem I won't be returning it for that alone ; Lots of bloatware, moreso than I expected. I have yet to do a reinstall, but...

Very impressed

Overall, I love this system so much that I gave it 4 eggs. I had to take off one egg for the network adaptor card as that's a very annoying and critical impact negative to the system. If it never happened or was fixed when I tried to repair it, then I...

Looks brand new, only a single small scratch on the outer case ; Runs WoW on Ultra perfectly fine in almost every raid and everywhere outside of raids ; Still adjusting to having a key pad, but it's often handy to have ; Love the USB ports on different...

I can still see fingerprints on the shiny surface around the keyboard and the more mac surface where your palms rest ; Occasionally, the network drops every 5-7 minutes, a restart usually clears this ; One time, the network adaptor was saying it was...

ASUS G60VX

Im playing all of my favorite video games and I dont have to carry around a big stupid 18 inch computer. I refuse to buy a 17 inch or larger laptop it aint happnin.

GTX260M Runs NEW Games on high settings just bought the G60VX and both versions of Battlefield Bad Company 2 and "Vietnam" runs like a top. I'm a web and graphic designer for two local radio stations in the Baton Rouge area and thought that the...

The processor is not "super fast" but its fast I have core i3 Dell Insipiron that is now for sale because I really like this G60VX ; There arent many cons here other than the fact that it was a refurbish. Mine came in immaculate condition and I can be...

My first review (be gentle)

The battery on mine looked brand new, still in plastic wrap. Plugged it in and it actually registered initially at ~1 hour 45 minutes or so. Goes pretty quick, though, as mentioned by others. Truth be told, if I could get an 8 or 9 cell battery for...

Bit of a warning: I like to hear myself type. OK, so, read the reviews, decided to take the plunge. While the packaging was rather suspect, the machine itself looked brand new. It even has/had some of the plastic shrink-wrap on it (I haven't taken it...

The power supply that came with it did look used. Specifically, the rubber reinforcement for the cable coming out of the brick was broken. Aesthetically, not attractive. Functionally, not an issue. I also purchased another power supply for $8 from...
