ASUS G75VW Review: The Best Mainstream Gaming Notebook Gets Better

The ASUS G75VW excels in nearly every area as have previous-generation ASUS G-series gaming notebooks.

Excellent anti-glare 1080p display ; Superb keyboard and touchpad ; Solid build quality

Subpar speakers

Cooling is one thing ASUS has done well on its 17.3-inch G-series notebooks and the G75VW is no exception. The cooling systems for the processor and graphics cards are cleverly separated; the left exhaust vent is for the processor and the right is for...

ASUS G75VW-DS71 Review

ASUS touts the $1,799 G75VW as the ultimate fighting machine, and while that declaration may be more hyperbole than fact, the notebook is no slouch when it comes to gaming. The G75VW delivers where it really counts -- playing the latest games at silky...

Attractive design, Comfortable keyboard and touchpad, Blazing-fast graphics performance, Thunderbolt port

Overall performance falls behind top competition, Lid picks up fingerprints easily, Below-average battery life, Slow hard drives

Asus G75VW

The Asus G75VW is equipped with enough mid- to high-range hardware to run any game on the market today and to stay current for a few more years. Improvements to the speakers on the G75VW would have given this gaming laptop a higher score during our...

16GB of Ram and 750GB of hard drive really are a solid combination for gamers

The audio isn't great. The built-in speakers struggle with reproducing vocals when you listen to music

The Asus G75VW is a great laptop for anyone on a budget. It features a graphics card that is on the higher end of mid-level cards and a clear screen that displays beautiful graphics during gameplay.

Asus G75VW review

The Asus G75VW is far from pretty and it certainly isn't cheap, but it redeems itself by providing a massive serving of power for both general computing and gaming. The bold, Full HD screen sadly lacks the touch capabilities for Windows 8 though.

Very powerful processor ; Impressive gaming performance ; Excellent Full HD screen ; Loads of storage

Pricey ; Design won't suit everyone ; No touchscreen to make the most of Windows 8

The Asus G75VW might be pricey, but it offers a lot for your money. The Full HD screen is excellent and its performance for both computing tasks and gaming is great. If you want a laptop to take in and out of work then it's not for you, but for...
