One of the most beautiful ultraportables that we have seen from Asus thus far, we find out whether the beauty is more than just skin deep.

Slim and lightweight; good range of connectivity options for an ultracompact; onboard DVD/CD-RW combo drive; brilliantly clear 12.1-inch display

Poor battery life; touchpad prone to accidental activation by idle thumbs; confusing keyboard design

The M5200N is still a worthy consideration for a thin-and-light notebook if the user is willing to turn a blind eye to its deficiencies.

Noisy fan

 

Apart from the slim and good performance, the fan noise and occasional electric surge from the silvery metal on the sides have made it a disappointment.
