I found these reviews so helpful while I was shopping that I felt compelled to write a review myself.
Overall I am pleased with my purchase. 95% of my computer use is for browsing internet or spreadsheet/word processing applications, although I do watch an occasional movie. So far, there has been nothing that this computer could not handle (it is very fast). The quick boot time (26 seconds to password prompt) is nice. The laptop runs cool and I've never overheated.
The LED light indicating whether integrated graphics or the Nvidia card is being used is nice. The keyboard is a good size and works smoothly. I would prefer a full size number pad instead of the skinny keys. The touch pad takes some getting used to when typing, I find that sometimes I inadverdantly change the location of the cursor with my palm while I'm typing.
I wanted something that could potentially handle 3D building modeling programs (i.e. Revit) and I thought the expandability to 16 GB RAM, along with the high-mid range graphics card and the core i7 would allow decent performance, although I have not yet had the opportunity to test with BIM.
There are two things that have disappointed me. Apparently the hands-free bluetooth feature will not operate while the wireless LAN is operating. The other problem-which could be potentially serious-is that the screen will sometimes flash on and off while on battery power. So far this has just been annoying and I don't think it's worth returning the laptop for. The two-year warranty makes me a little more comfortable with the situation.
