Asus N56VM

The Asus N56VM is the first laptop we've seen with Intel's "Ivy Bridge" inside, and the new processor doesn't disappoint.

Blazing Ivy Bridge processor. Full HD display.

Neither graphics processor is on par with the sizzling CPU. Somewhat bulky.

From the moment I first opened the package and pulled out the N56VM, I have been impressed with ASUS’ latest hardware. The silver palm rest is a nice change of pace from all the black laptops I’ve tested during the past few years, the keyboard is...

Asus' Ivy Bridge-powered N56VM notebook

At last, Ivy Bridge is out. Surely that means a tidal wave of next-generation ultrabooks is about to hit. Surely we're about to slice our fingers on Ivy Bridge-powered systems so thin they can be classified as bladed weapons.

Let's talk about Ivy Bridge first and the N56VM second.

ASUS N56VM Ivy Bridge laptop review

ASUS N56VM review: Use this third generation Intel Core i7-based laptop for office work, gaming and other tough tasks

Performance ; Good user comfort ; Matte screen

Touchpad could be a little better ; SD card slot hard to access ; Budget Wi-Fi module

The ASUS N56V offers good performance, lots of useful features and a great level of user comfort. We enjoyed using it very much and think it's a good unit to consider if you want fast application performance, as well as the ability to run modern games.
