Review Asus Q500A-BHI7T05 Notebook

Quality on a budget. The entry-level category is filled with nume

Very good build quality and brushed aluminum construction for the price; Great CPU performance with no throttling; Keyboard backlight on a budget notebook; Bright glossy screen for indoor use; Large responsive touchpad; Easily accessible HDD, RAM, and...

Fingerprint magnet with hard to clean surfaces; Very difficult to use under sunlight; Ports may be too close up front; sd reader difficult to access; Poor speaker quality; Slightly on the heavy side; Inaccurate pre-calibrated colors; Arrow keys and...

Great design and chassis, very fast CPU performance and even a backlit keyboard on a budget notebook.

Pretty good bang for the buck. But it's too bad the keyboard has problems.

I'm pretty much going to copy another review here (with a few minor changes): Pros: Good Price/Performance ratio. Cons: Motherboard and Keyboard issues in the first year and then Keyboard stopped working in year 2. Daughter used it her first year in...

i7 processor With replace the hard disk with an SSD it's REALLY FAST.

Get the extended warranty. You're probably going to need it. Keyboard fails. But there are workarounds.

Not recommended

Not wanting to replace the keyboard (because of the high price of ASUS replacement parts) I decided to use several USB and Bluetooth keyboard / mouse. Unfortunately the drivers are very picky and this is a poor solution. Wish I had never bought this...

-Good Display

N key slowly stopped working. Followed by the B key. Followed by the left shift. Followed by the entire bottom left row of the keyboard completely not working. ASUS claims this is not a known issue, but there are lots of complaints on this. It is not...

I Will Never Buy From Asus Again!

I purchased this laptop in late 2012. Before 2013 I already had to have the laptop sent in for "hardware issues" despite caring for it properly. When it came back to me, the track pad was already malfunctioning and some keys didn't register when being...

Literally nothing.

Literally everything.

Serious Design Flaw

I recommend staying away from this computer. Asus has some good products, but this is not one of them. This hinge design flaw should be something caught in quality control. Hopefully they learn from their mistakes, but in the meantime, I'm down my only...

1. The computer is fast and easily upgrade-able ; 2. The computer looks sleek ; 3. The keyboard and mouse are solid (in my opinion) ; 4. Was in great condition for a B-grade refurbished model ; 5. Beautiful display, best part of this computer

1. Is a bit of a fingerprint magnet ; 2. Plastic tabs on bottom are easily broken during disassembly ; 3. Speakers are so-so ; Here I launch into why I gave it one star. Thomas W. is absolutely correct; the design for the hinge is unsound. If I had to...

Great Laptop

SImply put this laptop has been great for me. But it also looks like a lot of people here have gotten bad models and I'm one of the minority who's PC is working. It's also weird that all these people get the same response of "it's an isolated incident"...

Great GPU (has handled BF4 at medium settings with 40fps) Good battery life Aluminum casing USB 3.0 1 TB HDD Really nice feel of being well built

Heavy Blocky charger Tendency to restart rather than just wake up from sleep

Good quality sound but...

This is a great laptop, if you're prepared to buy a new one in another eight months. I love Asus computers but this one in particular has been more trouble than it's worth.

Great graphics card ; Great performance on all kinds of programs and games ; This is a great laptop for just about anything(At least for a short while.)

So far the average motherboard life seems to be 6-8 months ; I bought this laptop new January 2014 and it was great. Schoolwork, games, media. I could do it all. But then in November the motherboard fried and I had to send it back to the manufacturer...
