Lasted 2 years

Laptop was a greatvalue when it worked. Very acceptable gaming performance. Cheapo battery died quickly. Glossy laptop screens are terrible design.

Great performance for gaming at the price range

Glossy screens are awful. Battery lasted less than a year, did not replace. Power adapter died a few months later, replaced with 3rd party adapter ; No longer powers up. May be a power supply (internal) problem, or something dead on the board

Poor product! extended warranty worthless! Beware

I have been a newegg customer for many years, but no more! I shall. Never purchase from Newegg again

Decent computer for first year. Then major headache

After first year, very unreliable. Noisy, slow, prone to shutting down. Repaired with new fan but problem persisted. Subsequently shut down completely. After less than 2 years ownership, having bought a 3 year extended warranty, I was left with no...

ASUS N61JQ-XV1

Everything! Srsly, this laptop packs a great punch for gamers and general users alike. I have had this model for over a year and it still is working great. Asus has top notch support and service

None. This is a great unit for the price

Sadface

Hopefully they don't just reformat it and send it back with the same problem... I've been a long-time ASUS buyer, mainly motherboards and such though. I decided to venture into their laptops because of this and am very disappointed, to say the least.

It's probably a sweet laptop if it works

It doesn't work. Well, it did work - for about a month. It randomly overheats somehow (I have a zalman cooler underneath) while running no programs whatsoever. No games or anything, it will just randomly decide to get extremely hot and freeze up. ...

Bad overheating problems

When I first got the computer, I even had some problems with just random things that made me mad such as random slowness or shutting down. I had to restart my laptop multiple times a day (this doesn't apply anymore, it stopped after about a month). ...

Fast computer, it looks pretty, it runs well, multitasks well, ect ; basically everything but what I listed in the cons. It's a great computer

OVERHEATING. I've owned this computer for a little over a year, and lately I've been experiencing horrible overheating problems. It shuts down every time I try running a game because of the overheating, and won't turn on until it's cooled off. Also,...

Good Value-Fast

wait for next gen Intel sockets&cpu's at this point if you don't want to be out of date by this time next year..am doing that with desktop needs!

Very fast. All well built except ..see cons ; For the money I am very happy with it

USB's are loose. Also USB's in use are very finicky. I often have had to relocate the mouse wireless USB receiver to get it to respond

Good performance, but gets hot.

It's good, but you'd better wish that your laptop doesn't get these overheating problems

It's much cheaper now than it was when I bought it ; Good performance ; Screen is generally good, and fine at different viewing angles ; USB 3.0, though I haven't used it yet ; It's not actually that heavy

Surface scratches pretty easily ; I'm not sure if this happens with all the notebooks or if it's just me, but starting around 6 month after I bought it it began to overheat. This laptop now sports hellish temperatures, if I put around 50 percent stress...

Great performance - but fails...

I've had lots of ASUS systems -- Laptops, motherboards... I even have one of the original eeePCs -- I've always had good luck with their hardware... until now. If only they would swap it for a new -- working system.

Laptop rocks ; Very fast CPU & good graphics ; Nice keyboard

Trackpad "left mouse" button failed and battery would only hold charge for ~20 minutes so I got an RMA via ASUS. When I got it back, it was in worse shape than when I sent it in -- broken plastics on bottom of unit, missing screws on memory/CPU access...

Sweet Laptop for the price

Full Keyboard ; Nice Crisp Display ; Sweet Video Card and Processor ; Great Price

I had to reformat to set the partition as a single drive, since they partitioned the hard drive weird. Other than that, a great laptop for the price
