Asus NX90JQ-A1

Dual touchpads has never been done on a laptop until now. Obviously, they'll take a while to get accustomed to. I can understand why there are two of them, though: Since the designer didn't want the touchpad (with the mouse buttons) in the usual spot,...

Huge side-mounted speakers. Amazing sound quality. A fast quad-core processor. Vibrant 18.4-inch widescreen. 1080p resolution. Good graphics performance. Blu-ray drive included

Polished aluminum has mirror-like characteristics. Heavy and awkward-looking. Insanely expensive

The pair of Bang & Olufsen ICEpower speakers on the Asus NX90JQ-A1 is unlike anything you've seen on a laptop and targets serious audiophiles.

Asus NX90Jq review

The Asus NX90 comes in what may be the largest notebook packaging we've ever seen; its very own stylish black monolith, designed to make you feel you're getting something seriously high end. Open it up and you might think you've bought a mirror by...

Fantastic sound in a stylish design with great PC performance, the Asus NX90 is almost as good as it looks

You don't expect portability with this size of screen but the weight is significant and the battery life is not, Core i7 might be a processor too far and the price tag is as impressive as the spec

This is a luxury multimedia notebook that gets the essentials of multimedia right with unbeaten sound quality and a good screen. You pay for what you get, in money and portability, but you can’t fail to be impressed

Asus and Bang & Olufsen join forces for this new laptop

Fantastic design ; Great audio ; Interesting usability ; Power on offer ; Wealth of features

Average performance for the money ; Audio isn't ear-shatteringly excellent ; Screen is a little dim ; Portability ; Ultimately doesn't ooze value for money

ASUS NX90JQ 'Bang & Olufsen' notebook

The ASUS NX90JQ has been designed to appeal to users who want better sound quality from a notebook. It's a desktop replacement-style, 18.4in notebook ...

Excellent sound quality, 6GB RAM, Core i7 CPU, 1TB hard drive space

Two touchpads take a lot of getting used to

The ASUS NX90JQ is a desktop replacement notebook with an emphasis on sound quality -- and it sounds better than any notebook we've tested to date. But that's not all: the NX90JQ represents a significant departure from conventional notebook design in...

Asus NX90Jq review

The 18.4-inch Asus NX90Jq laptop offers decent specs and a good screen for media playback. At such a high price, though, your money will almost certainly be better spent elsewhere.

Large, bright screen ; Decent performance ; Blu-ray drive ; Accurate speakers

Phenomenally expensive ; Awkward dual trackpad system ; More powerful laptops available for less ; Too big to move easily

If you've recently come into a serious amount of money and want nothing more than to spend a large chunk of it on a massive, shiny laptop, then the Asus NX90Jq will be right up your alley. On the other hand, if you don't have limitless riches, then you...

Asus NX90Jq 18.4in Core i7 laptop

Review I first encountered Bang & Olufsen in my teens. A friend's father had a Beocenter music system [1], which we fledgling audiophiles were, of course, both in awe of and barred from touching. The sleek lines, matt black controls and aluminium...

The Asus NX90Jq is a well-specified machine which packs a punch in terms of audio performance. Its striking design suggests it would be ideal as the centrepiece of a home entertainment centre, albeit a relatively expensive choice. Given the battery...

buyer beware

BEWARE. After contacting Asus I was instructed to send it in for repair re: audio.(I had only owned it for just over a month). I was told I would have my laptop back within 14 days. I was sent a fedex prepay which did not include insurance. I had to...

good for knocking out a mugger (incredibly heavy)

The audio quality on this laptop is horrible. Customer service is even worse

Great notebook for the traveling professional.

My search for a new notebook came shortly after I returned from a business trip where I experienced major problems using LogMeIn to connect to my desktop back at the office (I was using my personal notebook and didn't sync the two...and why should...

i7-2640M @ 2.8GHz ; TurboBoost 2.0 @ 3.5Ghz ; 3MB L3 Cache ; Expandable RAM ; Ultra Portable ; Less than 3.5lbs ; 7/8" tall in front and 1-1/4" tall in rear (with battery) ; 7/8" tall in rear without battery ; Win 7 Pro

According to Intel, this processor can handle up to 16GB of RAM...the only problem is when I use online memory scanners they show a limit of 8GB. On the ASUS website, 8GB is listed under the specifications
