More than a few issues

All around this looks like a good laptop, but I found ASUS support to be unhelpful, especially live chat support. If ASUS did a better job of keeping up to date graphics drivers, I'd be a lot happier. Perhaps they will release updated drivers once...

I bought this laptop because it was on sale and had a dedicated graphics card for casual gaming. I needed a new laptop for grad school and this seem to fit the bill. The laptop runs pretty quickly, even on battery power

I've had several issues with this laptop when it comes to gaming. I bought this laptop because a couple of other reviews stated that it could run WoW at 60fps on moderate settings. Unfortunately, this was not my experience. I was constantly stuck at...

The reason it keeps going on sale...

I got this as a gift after my wife bought a matching one. The issues some people mentioned with corrupted downloads are the fault of the wireless driver you ship with the laptop. It gives the best speed for the WLAN card of all the drivers I've tried,...

Great screen, thrilled to have a 15.6 inch IPS panel. Glad to have 1080p too ; Keyboard is nice ; graphics cards are pretty good ; Design is aesthetically pleasing. Very cool/sleek look ; Thin & Light ; Very easy to dis/re-assemble ; Works with most...

Ralink RT3290 ; Touchpad Design doesn't allow both buttons to be clicked at once ; SmartGesture software for touchpad messes up some games (infinite scrolling)

amazing customer reps

MaryAnn A Nguyen was amazing, she was the best customer rep Ive ever felt with she was kind, considerate, attentative, and extremely helpful. The call took less time than the waiting time to talk to her, and if I had the chance I would wait longer just...

Horrible experiance

Your best bet is to try to avoid this one, I saw a couple of other reviews that alluded to update issues as well. ASUS did not do proper QA when they launched this product, which is a shame because usually their products are great.

Decent Screen ; Thinner than y510p ; Good price for specs

Had it for about a week until a "critical" windows update had to be installed. As soon as I did that I got the dreaded "Failed Update" loop. Basically there is no solution to the problem. Spent a lot of time and frustration troubleshooting this one....

Update from old review

AMD drivers and ASUS drivers websites had some drivers corrupted so i had a hard time installing compatible drivers for my Windows 7 For AMD dont use the auto detect and install method AMD downloaded a driver that didnt work. I fixed it by looking for...

Good Price ; HD camera, better than my OLD Logitech 2002 camera haha ; LCD needs some fine adjustment from the AMD catalyst ; Dual graphics are a plus ; Fast ; Full Size Keyboard ; DVD Drives .. these days laptops wont include one ; Audio ports have...

Windows 8 ; Battery is built in ; battery life according to the laptop at full charge is 1hr 30min on Balanced mode idle ; I have hated Windows 8 and have installed Windows 7 on it ; The cons i had some difficulty finding drivers ; I had to search a...

Asus Specs And such

this laptop is very thin and light , battery cant be removed , and inside holds a CUSTOM Asus battery not like the old days where they used those cylinder like batteries back in the old model laptops. so if you are tech savy like me you cant upgrade...

Screen quality is very nice.. no dead pixels SO FAR ; full size keypad ; dedicated and integrated graphics ; HIGH AIRFLOW. the fan will kick up to prevent overheating.. i like this system so thats good unlike other laptops

If you want to upgrade parts you need unscrew the bottom of the laptop and the plate is held by some clips ; the cover is basically the keyboard ; BATTERY IS BUILT IN ; Came with windows 8 but installed windows 7 on it :D ; my HDD came with a Samsung...

Good deal!

After all the issues and expenses, I would still recommend this product. It's an excellent computer. I don't know much about its behaviour at gaming.

I won't talk about the specs bc you can find those ; I have dropped it 3 times, I use it regurlarly for my photography business. It can run Photoshop and Lightroom very well. Dedicated graphics is a huge ; I have seen a lot of bad reviews on Windows8....

The bad news and how I solved it ; Asus tried to do some kind of shortcuts with the mouse, like scrolling on the side and zooming in or out.. It doesn't work. the symtom was the cursor was jumping all around the screen, moving to fast or too slow...

Hope it's good

Bought this laptop on friday, after watching it for weeks with no price change. Come on today to see it has dropped by $100. I'm hoping I can get the 100 credited back to me, since I haven't even received the product yet. Will review more when I...

ASUS R510DP-FH11

Worked great when the display would stay on

The display would randomly go black and all I could see was the cursor on the screen. Looked this up online and read others having same issue. I would close the lid and slowly open it back up and the display would sometimes come one. Or I would have to...

Really worth it!

Nice piece of hardware, I could not expect more for for $400 ; Nice design, plastic but well made. Fast enough even for gaming or photoshop. Stay cool and sound ok. Refurbished but like new

no ssd, 4 cell battery, 6gb is good 8 would be better. So far nothing to complain about
