Review Asus R510CA-CJ862H Notebook

Temptation in red. From the technological point of view, the R510CA offers nothing more than your standard features. Noteworthy are the touchscreen and large hard drive. But the computer's big attraction is its red attire.

Red case, 24-month warranty, Runs quietly, Display has no blue cast, Display offers good color values, The red case and that the notebook runs quietly

No Haswell processor, Expensive, Meager battery life, Low-contrast display, A better battery life and a better display

Great Workstation, If It Worked

Laptops are not perfect, I realize this. However, there amount of problems I've had with it really makes me wish I hadn't bought it. I wish I could build my own like a desktop, my desktop runs great and hasn't had any problems like this at all, so it...

This laptop has a great APU and GPU combo, they run graphic-intense applications very well and I've been quite pleased with its performance despite my many unfortunate events with it

This laptop has had problem after problem, first off because this is an OEM product, good luck getting any help from Windows if your OS goes corrupt. At that point you have to send it to Asus to reinstall it, you cannot buy any recovery media for it. I...

Pretty good

Looking at it on paper it looks pretty good. With that said, AMD is good, but even with higher clock rates, you are better off with an I5. Windows 8 would have been a con, but am getting used to it and it really isn't ASUS's fault. Just haven't had the...

Video card keeps up with most games, but only if you don't mind sacrificing ultra high settings ; Low to moderate settings in BF4 work pretty good with a lower res ; Optical drive (seems less common these days) ; Relatively cool ; Decent battery life ;...

Didn't have 8.1 loaded from start, so some drivers and software had issues within an hour of running ; Hard drive (5200 rpm) slow performance; but you know that when you buy it ; Internal components (battery, ram, hd, etc) can only be accessed if you...

Terrible Experience

I actually enjoy this computer, but not being able to use the wireless functionality is a real damper on the product.

Has decent CPU and is a fair pc for the price, works well with most games and school work

Windows 8 ruined the laptop, I'm not sure if it's a driver error, or if windows 8 is just bad- but I've been having issues for weeks now ; After managing to get through the windows 8 updating issue after two days or attempts and solutions, I've...

More than a few issues

All around this looks like a good laptop, but I found ASUS support to be unhelpful, especially live chat support. If ASUS did a better job of keeping up to date graphics drivers, I'd be a lot happier. Perhaps they will release updated drivers once...

I bought this laptop because it was on sale and had a dedicated graphics card for casual gaming. I needed a new laptop for grad school and this seem to fit the bill. The laptop runs pretty quickly, even on battery power

I've had several issues with this laptop when it comes to gaming. I bought this laptop because a couple of other reviews stated that it could run WoW at 60fps on moderate settings. Unfortunately, this was not my experience. I was constantly stuck at...

The reason it keeps going on sale...

I got this as a gift after my wife bought a matching one. The issues some people mentioned with corrupted downloads are the fault of the wireless driver you ship with the laptop. It gives the best speed for the WLAN card of all the drivers I've tried,...

Great screen, thrilled to have a 15.6 inch IPS panel. Glad to have 1080p too ; Keyboard is nice ; graphics cards are pretty good ; Design is aesthetically pleasing. Very cool/sleek look ; Thin & Light ; Very easy to dis/re-assemble ; Works with most...

Ralink RT3290 ; Touchpad Design doesn't allow both buttons to be clicked at once ; SmartGesture software for touchpad messes up some games (infinite scrolling)

amazing customer reps

MaryAnn A Nguyen was amazing, she was the best customer rep Ive ever felt with she was kind, considerate, attentative, and extremely helpful. The call took less time than the waiting time to talk to her, and if I had the chance I would wait longer just...

none rep was great

Horrible experiance

Your best bet is to try to avoid this one, I saw a couple of other reviews that alluded to update issues as well. ASUS did not do proper QA when they launched this product, which is a shame because usually their products are great.

Decent Screen ; Thinner than y510p ; Good price for specs

Had it for about a week until a "critical" windows update had to be installed. As soon as I did that I got the dreaded "Failed Update" loop. Basically there is no solution to the problem. Spent a lot of time and frustration troubleshooting this one....
