Hope it's good

Bought this laptop on friday, after watching it for weeks with no price change. Come on today to see it has dropped by $100. I'm hoping I can get the 100 credited back to me, since I haven't even received the product yet. Will review more when I...

Worked great when the display would stay on

The display would randomly go black and all I could see was the cursor on the screen. Looked this up online and read others having same issue. I would close the lid and slowly open it back up and the display would sometimes come one. Or I would have to...

Really worth it!

Nice piece of hardware, I could not expect more for for $400 ; Nice design, plastic but well made. Fast enough even for gaming or photoshop. Stay cool and sound ok. Refurbished but like new

no ssd, 4 cell battery, 6gb is good 8 would be better. So far nothing to complain about

Good Laptop

Overall, nice computer that fits my needs as a student who needed a laptop but also wanted a little more power for gaming too. Windows 8 is kind of a pain that has caused a few troubles, but it isn't as bad once you get used to it and use a usb mouse...

Good power for price ; Great Speakers ; Thin and light

Screen feels quite flimsy ; Touch pad is kind of in the way a lot, but using the setting to have it turn off when using a mouse will solve most problems ; Seems to run hot when playing games, but a cooling pad will take care of that

I like it and you can't get anything better for the price!

Great laptop for the price, you really can't find anything better. This was on sale for a few days for $580 so i jumped on the opportunity. So far so good. I happen to be one of the people who enjoy windows 8/8.1 so i don't know why people knock this...

Battery life is not very good. I get anywhere between 1.5 - 3 hours depending on what you are doing ; Battery is not removable. not a fan of this because i plan on having the laptop a long time and know that the battery will dwindle. I am going to buy...

I would not recommend buying this laptop for the SOLE purpose of gaming. I bought this particular model because I required a computer for school/work but wanted something with the ability to play a few games at decent settings (specifically World of...

Light Weight (5.1lbs) ; Attractive looking (finish and casing does not feel cheap or flimsy) ; 1920x1080 display (not common for laptops in this price range) ; AMD A10-5750M CPU is faster than I expected ; Dedicated Graphics card (albeit a low-range...

Windows 8 may be a deal breaker for some people. Personally, I am not bothered by it much as there are programs to revert the start menu to the classic windows look ; The 5400RPM HD is pretty slow. You can always upgrade to a SSD though ; Battery life...

Fantastic notebook

With time and patience you'll have Windows 8 fully updated within a day. Just don't try to do all 100+ updates at once: pay attention to the release dates and do a few at a time. I applied updates at 4 month chunks starting with 2012 and didn't have a...

The specs are fantastic, especially when compared to the very reasonable price. It's very thin and attractive to boot. With a little calibration the display is gorgeous, and 1920x1080 pixels compressed onto a 15.6" screen means the picture is sharp and...

Windows 8 is a nightmare to update, but see Other Thoughts below

Very clean

The 750 GB HD came partitioned as split between C and D with a small 20 GB recovery partition. I successfully merged the two partitions using disk manager right after turning it on because I don't like having to deal with two logical drives. Piece of...

The CPU is fast and the display is clean and crisp. I hooked up to an external HDMI monitor and the laptop display is better than the Asus VW198T monitor, which is a definite plus ; The keyboard is nicely spaced and allows decent typing even for my...

Battery life is abysmal at full power, but that is to be understood with the horsepower. Since I plan on using the battery at times, I reduced the brightness while running on battery to help extend. I am seeing in the 2.5-3 hour range depending on load...

be wary!

Great specs. At the time of this writing it's definitely the best hardware you can get on a laptop for the price point ; The 1080p IPS display. The 8 gigs of ram. Enough ports for a laptop. Nice full keyboard, and super light ; It'll even play Diablo 3...

Initial setup. No windows 7 support as far as I know

Great computer with just a few problems

I like this machine overall, it fits the bill almost perfectly for me, it was hard finding another laptop that had more than one slot for external display, and I didn't want to have a usb slot taken up by a display port.

This machine is fast, it replaced an acer AMD A-8 machine that I had, that started failing to see the HD. The speed isn't terribly noticeable, but it does seem a bit faster. I use this as a development machine (Java), and I wanted a machine that had a...

Like others I had problems with the windows update, it tried to do all of them as one massive batch (99 updates), and after 10 hours of working on it, it failed, and reverted. The next day I let it do a couple at a time, and then told it to reboot, so...
