Review Asus R510CA-CJ862H Notebook

Temptation in red. From the technological point of view, the R510CA offers nothing more than your standard features. Noteworthy are the touchscreen and large hard drive. But the computer's big attraction is its red attire.

Red case, 24-month warranty, Runs quietly, Display has no blue cast, Display offers good color values, The red case and that the notebook runs quietly

No Haswell processor, Expensive, Meager battery life, Low-contrast display, A better battery life and a better display

I received it and it was bugged

I recommend that you never buy a refurbished product since its complicated and risky.

I wouldn't know I didn't get to try it.

- I couldn't send it back to new egg cause i got rid of the box right away. - Constant black screen the first day i open the laptop ( It was not a driver problem, everything about that was tried) - Asus costumer support tried to help me, been 2 weeks i...

Great Specs, Terrible Performance

Great specs for the price

The computer just does not perform.. I've tried Dalaran WoW and I get less than 1 FPS, Path of Exile gets under 10 FPS, DOTA 2 under 10 FPS, all while attempting to lower the game settings ; I feel like with the specs this machine has it should be...

Good, but not amazing

Good overall, although the specs list lies on the GPU. If you want heavy duty graphics either overclock or look elsewhere. AMD 8760M specs page: http://www.amd.com/en-us/products/graphics/notebook/8500m-8600m

CPU actually runs faster than 2.5 GHz, it can safely run at up to 3.5 GHz ; Hard drive is a decent size ; Display is crisp at 1920p. Has a good anti-glare ; Can run most games on low-mid settings

GPU is lower than listed. On AMD's website, they list the 8670M (which is this laptop's GPU) as having a max of 1GB of DDR3 RAM. This is significantly worse than what it could have been. Reason being all modern GPUs use GDDR5 RAM, which is generally...

The gift that keeps on giving

Nice specs for CPU and APU vs. price

Keeps dying. I've two hard drives fail. ASUS repaired twice. Now, the display is dying. My guess is that when they replaced the hard drive the second time, they broke the very fragile small display connector thing. I have it back just a couple of weeks...

I normally go for cheap, but...

This is a really good laptop for the price. I was able to play anything I loaded on it with low to medium settings. It's lightweight, decent battery when not gaming, and overall pretty easy to use

Do not update the GPU driver. The default custom driver is the only way to get any decent performance out of this machine. The updated drivers from AMD cause a noticeable performance drop. The wireless card also leaves a lot to be desired, as it will...

Great Workstation, If It Worked

Laptops are not perfect, I realize this. However, there amount of problems I've had with it really makes me wish I hadn't bought it. I wish I could build my own like a desktop, my desktop runs great and hasn't had any problems like this at all, so it...

This laptop has a great APU and GPU combo, they run graphic-intense applications very well and I've been quite pleased with its performance despite my many unfortunate events with it

This laptop has had problem after problem, first off because this is an OEM product, good luck getting any help from Windows if your OS goes corrupt. At that point you have to send it to Asus to reinstall it, you cannot buy any recovery media for it. I...

Pretty good

Looking at it on paper it looks pretty good. With that said, AMD is good, but even with higher clock rates, you are better off with an I5. Windows 8 would have been a con, but am getting used to it and it really isn't ASUS's fault. Just haven't had the...

Video card keeps up with most games, but only if you don't mind sacrificing ultra high settings ; Low to moderate settings in BF4 work pretty good with a lower res ; Optical drive (seems less common these days) ; Relatively cool ; Decent battery life ;...

Didn't have 8.1 loaded from start, so some drivers and software had issues within an hour of running ; Hard drive (5200 rpm) slow performance; but you know that when you buy it ; Internal components (battery, ram, hd, etc) can only be accessed if you...
