Consumer review (newegg.com)

Loved it while it lasted

my first ROG laptop and it surpass my expectations by far. i am going to get another (not sure if it will be this exact one) and probably one for my brother. i would definitely recommend this to a gamer looking for a portable/powerful machine. perhaps...

Works fast, stays cool, not too heavy, it even looks good

not really to much too say that is bad about this. everyone seems to hate the touch pad but it hasn't bothered me. only thing that is sad is that the screen just went died on me before the laptop reached its first birthday. but i absolutely loved it...

Keyboard/Gaming

I have had this laptop for almost a year now. My main issue with it is that when i am typing it does not register some of my keystrokes sometimes, which can be supper frustrating. the second issue is it does not run Star Wars the Old Republic (SWTOR)...

Touchpad is just abominable.

Why would you bother building in a touchpad that IS practically unusable?... looks cool though. Typical management-type idiocy.

Good balance between mobility and performance. Doesn't get ridiculously hot, even when pushed harder

Unresponsive touchpad and absolutely unusable touchpad buttons suck life and joy out of this laptop... suck it DRY ; Harddrive is slow, sorely needs an SSD. Windows 8.1 is ridiculous - especially in a laptop without touchscreen. Does this makes sense...

My first ROG laptop and I'm disappointed

I wish I read the negative reviews thoroughly before buying this laptop. The pitfalls of this laptop is true. Asus while advertising otherwise on their site uses a TN panel on this model. Symptoms of a TN panel? Horrible view angels, bland colors, and...

Great matte & aluminum finish ; Average weight ; chiclet keyboard is comfortable with good travel ; Nice aesthetics and design ; solid cpu & ram performance

Cheap TN panel (though Asus denies this) ; Right side ports stopped working after a week of use ; battery lasts less than advertised ;

Great Case

In the end, I don't think that this laptop was worth getting given the troubles that it's given me and the false advertisement about the display quality. If I hadn't had these issues, I would have given 4 stars because it is a nice laptop and it's...

I loved this laptop at first because it was beautiful and fast, especially because I upgraded the slow 1TB HDD to a much faster 256GB SSD which made it perform like a tablet ; Aesthetics ; Has a nice metal finish making it feel sturdy ; Has a "Republic...

They promised a 178 degree viewing angle IPS display and lied! This comes with a cheap TN display that gives MAYBE a 30 degree viewing angle before showing color distortion. I felt cheated by ASUS for this. (See UPDATE) ; Keyboard back-light only has 3...

Great deal

This laptop had already been on my wish list for weeks and I risked an open box to save a few hundred dollars. It was so worth it. It arrived on time and very, very well packaged excluding the original box but, the components were included ; I spent a...

Note: My complaints are minor and otherwise it's a great laptop. Most of the drawbacks I was aware of when I bought it and it was a compromise for the price so I'm not gonna leave a bad review because it doesn't perform like a laptop out of this price...

ASUS G56JK-EB72

Bought this laptop to be used for college/gaming while on the go, after two weeks of use I start getting the Blue screen restart loop so I rebooted the operating system multiple times. Eventually I got fed up and decided to send it in to Asus service...

very satisfied

Great step up from my macbook pro (circa 2007). The graphics are still no where nears macs, i even put them side by side and was tripped up but now i don't notice. Plays games very well with short wait time and the computer gets warm at most, the fan...

doesn't overheat a lot ; quiet ; plays my steam videos games pretty well (assassins creed, portal, etc, haven't played any mmo's yet though) ; sleek ; audio is pretty decent

fingerprint magnet, clean often (not important) ; audio sometimes makes a weird robotic noise (not often) ; graphics are decent but no where near mac pro, hard to get used to at first but now i don't notice ; windows 8.1 (maybe can be changed? i...

Lightning Fast Gaming & Work Laptop

The style and backlit keyboard on this are absolutely fantastic. i'm about a month or two into using the computer and so far the battery life hasnt diminished, which was an issue i had with my last Asus. The hinges seem okay but we'll see if they...

Sleek, fast, intuitive. not too much bloatware installed. the Nvidia driver is great. I've used it for both gaming and work and it boots up in seconds. expensive but worth the cost. battery life is also solid, lasting for 5 hours as advertised, though...

only complaint I have is that the battery, as good as it is, is not always accurately displayed. sometimes when it's plugged in/just been unplugged but at full charge, it says it will run for 10 hours. It does not run for 10 hours ; sometimes when it's...
