Asus ROG G750JZ-XS72

The Asus ROG G750JZ-XS72 delivers high-end gaming performance, and it comes at a high-end price.

Quality construction. Intel Core i7 quad-core processor and latest Nvidia graphics. Lots of storage with 1TB hard drive and two SSDs. 32GB of RAM. Integrated subwoofer with sound optimization software. Excellent selection of ports and features. Long...

Overly sensitive touchpad. No custom backlight color. Limited portability

The Asus ROG G750JZ-XS72 ($2,999.99 as tested) is a gaming laptop that earns every penny of its high-end price. It's outfitted with the latest Intel Core i7 processor, Nvidia's latest GeForce GTX 880M graphics card, and a wealth of features and ports....

While much of the public discourse about laptops and mobile PCs is taken up with ultrabooks, hybrids, and other ever-slimmer devices, there's still room for the traditional 17-inch gaming desktop replacement.

The Asus G750 is one of the first laptops with Nvidia's new top-end GeForce GTX 880M graphics cards. The hefty keyboard is great for WASD gaming, and a generous selection of ports makes it easy to add accessories or external monitors.

For a $3,000 laptop, this still looks like a thick, clunky box. The screen skips the higher resolution and touch functionality we're seeing more often in premium laptops.

The Asus line of gaming laptops has always offered excellent high-end configurations, along with custom software and hardware tweaks. This latest version of the G750 bets on Nvidia's brand-new line of GPUs, and includes the current top-end card for...

If you've got the money (and a hunger for PC games), Asus has your fix.

Blazing gaming performance, Above-average sound, Long battery life

Huge and heavy, Expensive, Viewing angles aren't the best

All in all, it's easy to praise the G750JZ-XS72 (with, as we said, the mental reservation that those who don't need to burn DVDs and for whom 24GB of RAM is ample can save $500 by stepping down to the DS71). Probably in three years we'll be celebrating...

Asus RoG G750JZ gaming laptop review

The G759JZ makes a good impression right from the start. The 17-inch machine may be big and bulky, weighing in at a hefty 4.5 kg and measuring a mighty 58 mm thick. But the build quality is excellent. The matt-black chassis has an attractive...

It's expensive, but the Asus G750JZ delivers the goods for gaming performance. You can find similar performance at a lower price, but features such as its Blu-ray drive, 2.1 speakers, and Thunderbolt interface mean that the G750JZ is also well-equipped...

Asus ROG G750JZ (T4110H) Gaming Laptop Review

Gaming laptops are big business to consumers who want to play their titles at more than one specific location. You get the (relative) portability of a laptop and the computing power sufficient to play...

Powerful CPU (with Iris Pro 5200 GPU) ; Strong gaming performance from the 8GB GTX 880M ; Very good screen ; Likeable design with a positive keyboard and trackpad ; Very good audio system with a well-performing subwoofer ; Positive thermal and acoustic...

Lower-cost GTX 970M outperforms GTX 880M and uses less power ; Slow (5400RPM) HDD and not much SSD storage ; Limited battery life due to power-hungry components ; Should use a faster wireless network adapter

Asus ROG G750JZ

We've seen a smattering of high-end gaming laptops in recent months, but Asus' ROG G750JZ is in a class all of its own. Taking a giant-sized 17.3in display as a starting point, Asus has packed a suitably huge chassis with only the most choice of...

An absolute monster of a gaming laptop, but let down by a lacklustre screen

Worth it...

This is a positive review because I did my research and framed my purchase around what I wanted from a new computer. I also chose a Asus because of the G51 that's still going strong, and the mobo that still fuels my 2-year old desktop. In other...

It does what it was designed to do. I appreciate the simplicity of no touch screen or 3D. It is amazingly quiet for it's power (my old Asus G50 is louder), and it's not as heavy as I was expecting for a 17" class laptop. And I like the space-aged...
