Asus Transformer Book Flip TP500LA Convertible Review

Middle-class convertible. The predecessors' displays didn't exactly impress because of their low resolution and subpar brightness. Asus improved the Transformer Book Flip somewhat in that regard, but the new convertible is still decidedly average....

fan is inaudible, good chassis, good looking design, high color accuracy, doesn't heat up much

display is too dark, lousy webcam, battery run times are average

Asus Transformer Book Flip TP500LA/LN review

If you're in the market for a good looking and powerful 2-in-1 laptop with a 15 inch screen, the Asus Transformer Book Flip TP500 should be on your list. It's a solid option with no particular deal-breakers, but you will be paying extra for the form...

good looking and solid built, decent keyboard and trackpad, plenty of ports, solid hardware, runs cool and quiet, alright battery life

poor screen on this configuration, the series priced high at launch, not that easy to upgrade

Although there’s nothing majorly wrong with this laptop, I do find it somewhat tough to recommend right now, at launch, because it is rather expensive, especially when looking at its competition.

Regret two weeks in

I received this as a gift for Christmas. I'm hoping that I can get the purchasing information so I can get rid of this piece and replace it with a computer that will actually work and not wait for ten minutes after startup to show the cursor each time...

Sleek design, easy to transition between tablet and laptop, sizable hard drive and RAM

Jittery, inaccurate touch screen, screen gets too dirty too quickly, terrible user experience

Great Value 2-in-1

I have not used the laptop much since it will be a present so I can't comment on the WiFi signal dropping as was mentioned in below reviews. I'll update once I've been able to use it more. I can see why some people think the screen isn't the best as...

-Sleek design and overall solid build quality. -Has an i3 instead of a Celeron or Pentium. -6GB of RAM instead of the usual 4GB. -Excellent price point for what you get. I paid $389 when it was on sale which is much less than any other comparable...

-Was expecting a dedicated area underneath for the HDD, but found out you have to take the entire bottom plate off to get to it. While this isn't really a big con, I was afraid I was going to break the plastic clips that hold it in place because of how...

2nd Asus in 6months NO 10 key

Good, but different than the 4GB Model

I've bought about 8 of these for different customers through Newegg and other websites, but never the 6GB RAM version. All 8 of them are still working and do well with most tasks. I personally use the 4GB RAM version for web development and Photoshop.

A couple of differences with this model were the keyboard being a little "stiffer" and the touchpad area being very difficult to properly click.

ASUS TP500LA-DS71T

This 2-in-1 laptop is quick and easy to use, and so far doesn't seem to have the connectivity issues I've experienced with other laptops. My requirements for a computer are pretty minimal- I pretty much just need something that connects to the...

The screen feels a little heavy; sometimes it almost feels like the laptop would tip over if the screen was extended past a certain point. That's a pretty minor gripe, though, and it could be how I'm holding it
