Asus U35JC-A1 review: Asus U35JC-A1

Asus U35JC-A1

Great size, thin chassis, fast performance; Nvidia Optimus graphics; good battery life.

Lacks an optical drive; graphics performance is OK but not great; poor viewing angles.

The Asus U35Jc-A1 is a thin, but solid, 13-inch laptop with no processor compromises and Nvidia Optimus graphics, covering all the basics--except an optical drive.

Asus U35Jc

This affordable, high-performance 13-inch laptop boasts Nvidia Optimus graphics switching.

Smooth touchpad ; Decent speakers ; Runs quietly

Average build quality ; No USB standby power charging ; Disappointing keyboard

Flexing keyboard aside, the U35Jc is an excellent laptop that offers extremely good value for money. It loses a point for that iffy keyboard, but its overall performance is good enough to earn it our recommendation; if you want something a little but...

Asus U35JC-RX080V review

A winning combination of portability and power, but slightly lacking in usability

Good performance ; Nvidia Optimus ; Battery life ; Good quality screen

Shiny screen coating causes reflections ; Some minor usability issues

Asus U35JC review

Weighing less than 2kg, the Asus U35JC is a typical ultra-portable, forgoing an optical drive for a slimmer profile, and at 25mm thick it's one of the slimmest laptops you can get. However Asus has opted for a full-fat Core i3 370M processor rather...

Asus U35Jc review

Reasonably portable, very powerful and with huge reserves of stamina

Were it not for that below-par keyboard, the Asus would have received an unqualified place on the A-List. As it is, it will just have to settle for a Recommended award. It might cost a little more than Samsung’s Q330, but it’s faster, has better...

Great laptop

Regarding the sagging keyboard issue, I had read about that problem in reviews on more than one site, but decided to purchase anyways. Owning it now, I haven't seen one bit of a problem w/ its construction other than the battery not fitting completely...

For a sub $1k laptop, this thing is great. SUPER fast, overall very quiet (the fan will speed up/down depending on your work of course, but even when you're putting a load on the processor its still quiet). Nvidia Optimus is definitely a plus - getting...

Bloatware. Asus puts a bunch of annoying stuff on here. Also, the screen viewing angles aren't that great - but certainly livable

I guess people can have an opinion...

as for the rest of what that guy wrote, he must have gotten a bad model. The keyboard is the Chicklet style, but is completely solid to type on, and also doesn't "click" as much as he makes it seem. it's rather quiet and very easy to use. Yes, the...

Ultra clear screen, 500GB HD + 500GB online storage, remarkably quiet, place where you keep your palms stays nice and cool, remarkably slim, rather lightweight, great battery life (10+hours on low power w/wifi ON), power control button is a great...

ok the other guy is right about a few things ; 1. Viewing angles are pretty bad, but if you're using the laptop and looking at the screen, its perfectly clear straight on. That's all he's right about. No optical drive, but i dont really use one even on...

Do NOT buy!

I have purchased ASUS motherboards for years and years. I bought this laptop becuase I had heard the Eee PC line of netbooks was nice. After such a cheaply built product and terrible customer support, never again will I purchase an ASUS product and I...

Price point, seemed to good to be true...and it was ; Battery lasts a solid 7 hours+ with regular tasks and wireless on ; Power profile button was nice

Very cheap construction overall ; keyboard sinks quite severely on the left side and some - - key provide a "clank" as a result of poorly constructed double wide keys (tab, caps lock, enter, etc) ; the bottom is plastic ; CPU whines like crazy whenever...
