Asus U46SV Review: Fast, Comfortable, Enduring, but Too Much Software

The Asus U46SV all-purpose laptop sets itself apart from the crowd through great performance and outstanding battery life--two attributes that rarely cohabitate. The primary reason for the long 6-hour, 41-minute run time is an unusually large...

Good performance ; Great battery life

Too much non-essential software ; Heavy

This all-purpose laptop is stylish with great stats and numbers, but it's also heavy and you must clean out the software bloat to fully appreciate it.

ASUS U46SV-DH51 Review

The ASUS U46SV certainly has the features and power to justify its price tag. For about $100 more than the integrated graphics version of this notebook, you get an Nvidia GPU that lets you play some of today's hottest games, plus long battery life and...

Sleek aluminum design, One of brightest screens in its class, Loud speakers, Good graphics performance, Long battery life

Asus U46SV-DH51

The Asus U46SV-DH51 is another one of those ultrabook laptops that are coming out these days and it's very similar to the Asus Zenbook that we reviewed a little while ago. This model has a lightweight aluminum design and a very bright, good quality...

Asus U46 SV review

Great battery life and performance in a questionable shell

Fantastic battery life ; Strong performance ; Dedicated Nvidia graphics ; Firm keyboard ; Bright screen

Screen quality iffy ; Chunky build ; Flexible lid ; No exciting features

While the Asus U46SV is powerful and its impressive battery life makes up in some part for the bulky build, we'd recommend holding off for the upcoming Asus Zenbook instead.

Asus U46SV

We've got to confess, the unveiling of the Asus Zenbook has spoiled us. The beautifully slender yet sturdy body is a marvel, yet it still makes room for some powerful components for (hopefully) excellent performance.

Asus U46SV review

The Asus U46SV may be at the heavier end of portable, but it's slim enough to slide into a bag and will be right at home in your office space. It's got enough power to chew through your work and will even tackle some games when you're finished.

Sturdy construction ; Excellent gaming performance ; Good power for general computing tasks ; Attractive design

Screen could be better ; Thicker and heavier than other ultra-portables ; Lid hinge will be annoying for some

The Asus U46SV may not be as slim and light as the Asus Zenbook UX31 ultrabook, but it's far from bulky and its design will be as welcome in the office as it is in the cafe.

Asus U46SV-WX044X review

The Asus U46SV is the smallest laptop in this group – and also comes with the smallest price tag. It might not have the most impressive specification but it has plenty of good features. The battery is probably the most notable of these, lasting a...

If it's a portable, low-cost entertainment-focused laptop you're looking for then the Asus U46SV will be right up your street. You'll have to make a few compromises on the specifications but at £699 it's hard to argue against. It'll also double up as a...
