ASUS ZenBook Prime UX32 Review

This Ultrabook breaks the mold by using lower cost components including a traditional hard drive instead of just an SSD. Our thoughts on this setup might surprise you.

Better than average display ; Good keyboard and touchpad ; Nice speakers ; Solid build quality

Slow hard drive ; The ASUS Zenbooks are stylish and offer a wide range of configurations to help consumers find an Ultrabook that fits their budgets.

Review Asus UX32A-R3001V Ultrabook

Entry-level Zen. Asus has been one of the first out of the blocks when dipping their hands into the ultrabook market. Now, with the UX32A-R3001V, it wants to rock the low-priced competition offering the laptop at around 800 Euro (~$1050). Our test...

Elegant, rigid and yet slim aluminum casing ; Good backlit keyboard ; Accurate and large touchpad - smoothly implemented multi-touch gestures ; Great speakers ("Just where is all that sound coming from?") ; Portability is guaranteed (sufficient screen...

Weak, outdated Sandy Bridge Core i3 ; Consequently, a comparatively poor performance

All the premium features that Asus packs into the Zenbook UX32A. Moreover, it is hard to find such well-engineered, balanced ultrabook for around 800 Euro (~$1050)

Asus Zenbook UX32A review – the most affordable Asus ultrabook

The Asus Zenbook UX32A is the most affordable Zenbook you could get right now. Starting at $700, it keeps most of the looks and overall build quality of the Primes, but ditches the IPS screen and top-notch hardware specs. Still, for the money, it's a...

beautiful and fairly solid built; decent trackpad and keyboard; alright screen, but short of impressive; good speakers; 5+ hours of everyday battery life; affordable

not as sturdy as the Zenbook Primes; the Core i3 config is quite slow; tons of bloatware preinstalled

Having a look at some of other budget ultrabooks on the market, you’ll notice that you can get better equipped laptops for around $700. In fact, the Lenovo IdeaPad U310 and the Sony Vaio T13 offer a Core i5 Ivy Bridge CPU for that kind of money. But...

Asus Zenbook UX32A review

Asus gives the Zenbook brand an Ivy Bridge makeover

Ivy Bridge power ; Great portable design ; Comfortable keyboard ; Excellent connectivity ; Good speakers

Mediocre battery life ; Screen limited to 720p ; Lack of RAM ; No scope for gaming ; Needless bloatware

The original Zenbook was one of the first Ultrabooks unveiled and even to this day it takes some beating.

Asus Zenbook UX32A review

Asus has got it right with the trackpad which is large and responsive to the touch. The reason for its size is down to the integrated mouse buttons which, for once, work without sending the cursor flying round the screen when clicked.

The Asus UX32A offers a familiar line-up of features for a cheaper Ultrabook. There's nothing outstanding in terms of performance here but you do get a much more stylish and well-built laptop compared to some of the competition.

Asus UX32A review

Although the ZenBook UX32A follows the same design queues as Asus' previous Ultrabooks, such as the top-end Asus ZenBook Prime UX31A, a few concessions have been made to make this model cheaper. Primarily, the case is a little thicker to squeeze in the...

Asus' Zenbook range of Ultrabook laptops have a premium feel to them. In this case, the UX32A is a more affordable luxury.

Great "casual use" laptop

I've always liked the Zenbook format (it's a pretty blatant Macbook Air rip-off, but there's nothing wrong with ripping off a good thing), but didn't have enough need for a personal laptop to spend the money on a new one (even the cheaper models). I...
