Asus Zenbook UX32Vd Review

Sexy Zenbook looks; lovely screen; lots of amenities at a competitive price

Wimpy GPU; despite Optimus, battery life isn’t exceptional; HDD rather than SSD

When Asus’s Zenbook UX31E debuted last year, it seemed to almost single-handedly put Ultrabooks on the map. Its intriguing mix of good looks, performance, and price convinced many a skeptic, us included, that PCs could compete with the likes of Apple’s...

Review Asus UX32A-R3001V Ultrabook

Entry-level Zen. Asus has been one of the first out of the blocks when dipping their hands into the ultrabook market. Now, with the UX32A-R3001V, it wants to rock the low-priced competition offering the laptop at around 800 Euro (~$1050). Our test...

Elegant, rigid and yet slim aluminum casing ; Good backlit keyboard ; Accurate and large touchpad - smoothly implemented multi-touch gestures ; Great speakers ("Just where is all that sound coming from?") ; Portability is guaranteed (sufficient screen...

Weak, outdated Sandy Bridge Core i3 ; Consequently, a comparatively poor performance

All the premium features that Asus packs into the Zenbook UX32A. Moreover, it is hard to find such well-engineered, balanced ultrabook for around 800 Euro (~$1050)

Review Asus Zenbook UX32VD Ultrabook

Miracles happen. The first rumors about Asus' new, revised Zenbook series made some waves: Full-HD IPS displays in skinny 13" cases. Hard to believe: non-reflective display surfaces! The rumors turned out to be true, in front of us sits an Asus UX32VD,...

Attractive Design ; Full-Size HDMI, VGA and LAN by Adapter ; Service friendly thanks to large bottom plate ; Backlit keyboard ; Bright display with strong 1000:1 contrast ; Outdoor capable thanks to bright, non-reflective display ; Very stable viewing...

No Unibody ; Spongy keyboard mounting ; some software applications fail at supporting Windows' display scaling. ; No SSD, just a conventional HDD with SSD cache ; High case temperatures during full load ; suboptimally positioned speakers

How long it took to find a really good display in a mobile notebook

ASUS Zenbook Prime UX32VD

Asus has long pursued the premium PC market. The company lacks the marketing know-how and grunt of HP or Dell, but it has arguably done a better job putting out legitimately great products. The company's history is dotted with unique laptops such as...

Three USB 3.0 ports ; Enjoyable keyboard and large touchpad ; High-contrast IPS display ; Good processor and 3D performance

Display has severe uniformity issues ; Hard drive is mechanical ; Battery life is so-so

We respect the Zenbook Prime UX32 for what it tries to accomplish, but we have mixed feelings about it as a product.

Asus Zenbook UX32A DB31

The Asus Zenbook was one of the first entrants in the new ultrabook category when it launched in late 2011. We liked that original system, despite a few serious flaws, as the all-metal design marked it as a direct competitor to the MacBook Air .

The Asus Zenbook UX32A is much less expensive than previous Asus ultrabooks, but keeps the same sharp design.

Saddled with last-gen components, the UX32A missed out on CPU and GPU improvements from Intel.

Asus makes some of the most full-featured ultrabooks available, but this stripped-down Zenbook UX32A version is missing those extras and faces tough competition in its price range.

Asus Zenbook UX32VD

Laptop shopping is always about making compromises, trading computing power for battery life or reducing size and weight at the cost of extra features. For ultrabooks or other ultrathin laptops, this is especially true, and nearly every slim 13-inch...

The Asus Zenbook UX32VD has features usually missing from ultrabooks, including a 1080p display and Nvidia GPU.

The UX32VD is expensive, it's thicker and heavier than most ultrabooks, and it has a less-than-stellar touch pad.

With a Core i7 CPU, discrete graphics, and a full HD screen, the Asus Zenbook UX23VD is pretty close to being the ultrabook that has it all, but you'll pay for all those features.

Asus Zenbook Prime UX32VD-DB71

The Asus Zenbook Prime UX32VD-DB71 adds a speedy 3rd generation Intel Core i7 processor and Nvidia GeForce graphics to the ultrabook formula. What Asus has wrought is the thinnest and lightest 1080p HD power system on the market. It's the ultrabook to...

Brilliant 1080p screen in a 13.3 inch ultrabook. Discrete 3D graphics. Strong multimedia performance. Full sized HDMI port. Three USB 3.0 ports in an ultrabook. Dual band 802.11 a/b/g/n 2.4GHz/5GHz Wi-Fi

Text can be tiny unless scaled up. Middling battery life. Only 30-day trial to McAfee Internet Security

ASUS Zenbook Prime UX32VD

The ASUS Zenbook Prime UX32VD combines the best Ultrabook display with Nvidia graphics for extra gaming muscle.

The $1,299 ASUS Zenbook Prime UX32VD is sort of a niche Ultrabook for those not satisfied with Intel's graphics performance, and on that basis it succeeds. You get the same sweet 1080p IPS screen and rich Bang & Olufsen speakers as the UX31A, and...

Asus Zenbook UX32A review – the most affordable Asus ultrabook

Today we're taking a detailed look at the Asus Zenbook UX32A. This is Asus's most affordable ultrabook available right now, starting at around $700, and wh

THE GOOD beautiful and fairly solid built; decent trackpad and keyboard; alright screen, but short of impressive; good speakers; 5+ hours of everyday battery life; affordable

THE BAD not as sturdy as the Zenbook Primes; the Core i3 config is quite slow; tons of bloatware preinstalled

Asus Zenbook Prime UX32VD Ultrabook Review

super-slim ultrabooks, gaming and multimedia are often the weakest links. Most ultrabooks have Intel integrated graphics that aren't designed to take on graphics-intensive games. Storage space, graphics processing, and display quality can be key areas...

Performance Summary: The Asus Zenbook Prime UX32VD is, as ultrabooks go, a strong multimedia system. Thanks to the discrete Nvidia graphics with Optimus, the UX32VD puts standard ultrabooks and their integrated graphics to shame the moment you fire up...
