ASUS W5fe SideShow

The ASUS W5fe SideShow, the first true SideShow laptop, reveals the potential of its small secondary screen; if only they'd come out with more gadgets to use with it.

Long-awaited SideShow display. Two bright screens. Laptop runs cool. Good performance. Big hard drive.

Lack of downloadable gadgets. No video support. Some glitches with the SideShow display. Small battery (three-cell).

Asus W5 Notebook Computer Review

The Asus W5 is not longer available but I recommend the Asus UL20A as an even-better replacement for the Asus W5.

Really nice laptop.

Asus W5FE (2P002A)

Windows Vista has opened up a few tasty avenues for PC technology and the Asus W5FE (2P002A) notebook is here to showcase one of them. We took a look ...

SideShow screen, 1.3 megapixel camera, Battery life

Some problems with SideShow screen, Shallow viewing angle

The Asus W5Fe has an interesting design and some cool features. The SideShow is not a hugely useful tool, but it's definitely fun and may become a more worthwhile feature as more gadgets are developed. If you're after a notebook with a good mix of...

Asus W5Fe review

Can powerful performance compensate for its other flaws?

Super storage capabilities ; Stunning screen ; Use of Windows SideBar feature

Poor battery life ; Mixed networking ability ; Pricey

While a strong performer in many ways, the price and battery life let this machine down

Asus W5Fe

When Microsoft started work on Vista, notebooks were still something of a minority, and anyone who has spent any time with the new OS will know that power management and mobility feel almost an after thought

Elegant design, Makes use of SideShow

Slightly bulkier than normal, Battery life

Overall a strong performer that really does make use of the SideShow gadget from Windows Vista
